Falling For Her.

As Blaire called time on the impromtu quiz session , how she wishes that Anne was right. Alas, while Blaire had correctly answered every question thrown her way that afternoon , she didn't know the answer to the most important question of all - which in her mind, was : Did James Patterson like her?
Blaire didn't believe in "love at first sight". She did however, believe in " like very much at first sight" , which was exactly how she felt the first time she met James.
She could hardly believe her luck when her line manager asked her if she'd mind showing James around on his first day. Usually Blaire was so busy running her team she tended to give the staff a bit of a whistle-stop tour. With James though she took her time and they immediately struck up a rapport. They were in an open-plan office so she kept her fingers crossed that James would be assigned either to her team or one close by. As luck would have it James was allocated adjacent to Blaire's , which meant she was able to "accidentally" bump into him several times each day. The more Blaire did so the more she came to realise that James was one of those bubbly, sociable people who chated to anyone and everyone , thus making it quite difficult to read him.
With nearly six months having elapsed since the first day he joined the company , Blaire had reached the conclusion that her feelings weren't reciprocated. She mentioned this to Anne one lunchtime.
"Perhaps you're not his type," Anne said.
"You mean he doesn't fancy me , don't you?"
"No , I mean he might prefer blondes."
Blaire ran het right hand through her long auburn hair. " I could dye it"
"Or maybe he's just shy around women"
"Really?" Blaire's heart sank. Suffering from congenital shyness herself she rarely considered the possiblity that the condition afflicted others just as badly as it did for her.
"If that's the case", Anne said, "there's only one thing for it"
"What's that?"
"You'll have to ask him out"
