New Step Dad (Part 2)

When Virgil woke up the next morning, he had a plan in his mind. Patton was planning on going grocery shopping, leaving at noon so Virgil will leave at 11:45 for a walk, returning before Patton gets home. Virgil smirked and checked the time, freaking out when he realized it was 10:37. He jumped up and hopped into the shower, taking the quickest shower of his life.

Virgil got dressed and left his room, deciding to slide down the stairs rail. One last act of rebellion to piss off Logan before he shows that he cares. When Virgil got to the bottom, Patton was about to head upstairs.

"Virgil! Do you know how dangerous that is?! Please don't do it again." Patton freaked out, hugging Virgil. Virgil hugged back and buried his face in Pattons shoulder.

"I'm sorry dad. I won't do it again. I love you." Patton beamed and hugged Virgil tighter.

"I love you too Kiddo!!" Its been a while since he's heard Virgil mutter those 3 words. Not since Roman passed away.

Patton pulled away from Virgil and smiled at him, ruffling his wet hair. Patton wrapped his arm around Virgils shoulder, while Virgil wrapped his around Pattons waist. Patton lead Virgil to the kitchen.

"What would you like to eat for breakfast kiddo?" Virgil smiled, a full genuine smile at his dad. Patton beamed at the sight.

"I can make my own breakfast dad, but I appreciate the offer." Patton nodded his head and hugged Virgil tighter.

"If your certain. And it's no problem! I love cooking for you!" Virgil rested his head on his dad's shoulder, smiling. Patton let go of Virgil and let Virgil make his own food.

Logan walked into the kitchen, having heard voices from in there, knowing his husband and step child were in there. He walked over to the coffee pot and started making another pot. Nodding his head at the two, letting them know he acknowledged them, noticing Virgils smile.

"Salutations, Virgil and Patton. I hope you had a good rest Virgil." Virgil smiled and nodded at Logan.

"Yeah I slept good. Thanks for asking Logan." Logan raised an eyebrow. Virgils change in behavior was weird, but as long as Virgil was happy, he could act however he wanted. As long as he wasn't rude to him or Patton.

"No problem. I know you have trouble sleeping and you need a full 8 hours of rest every night. You will let me or Patton know whenever you are unable to sleep, correct?" Virgil looked at Logan shocked, and then softly smiled.

"Yeah, I'll come to you or Dad if I can't sleep, or didn't sleep well." Logan nodded his head and Patton watched the exchange with a smile on his face.

Two years ago when Logan and Virgil last had this conversation, Logan only mentioned Patton and Virgil brushed him off and ignored it. Patton was happy they were getting along better.

"Oh by the way, I'm gonna go on a walk in about an hour and explore the neighbourhood a bit "

"Make sure you have your phone and if something happens, don't hesitate to call either of us Kiddo!" Patton said, smiling happily. Virgil nodded his head.

"Yeah I will. Don't worry about it." Virgil stood up. "I'm gonna go finish getting ready." They said their goodbyes to Virgil and he headed up the stairs, checking the time. He was about 30 minutes before he planned on leaving.

Virgil went to his closet and pulled out his black and purple jacket. He put it on before grabbing a pair of shoes and slipping them on, after putting on socks. He looked around his room and thought about what all we was going to take on his walk. He saw a park when they drove into the neighbourhood for the first time so he was planning to go there.
