*Abby's P.O.V*
I was currently parked on the side of the road. I ended up crying all night to the point where I had to pull over. I couldn't go back home. I just couldn't. I didn't want to break up with Emily. I didn't want to. I had to make up some lie.
All because of my parents.
They knew that I was dating someone. They just didn't know it was another female. They didn't support that. They believed in man and women dating and marriage. I had finally had the courage to show them who I was dating.
I showed them a pic of Emily and me. She was kissing my cheek.
I didn't know that they would be so mad and against it.
*FlashBack*
"This is Emily. My girlfriend." I held up my phone for them to see.
My mom's eyes widen and I watched my dad tighten his jaw.
"Your joking right? This is just some joke right?" My mom asked. I told her no.
"No. I don't approve of this. You have to break up with her now." My dad said sternly.
"Why? I love her. She treats me right. You guys should be happy about that. You should be happy that she treats me right." I tried to say.
"That's a damn sin. Abigail! You'll go for hell for that!" My dad said loudly.
"I don't care. I don't care what God thinks. If it's a sin then why did he make this way? I didn't choose this. I didn't decide one day that I was gay. No! God made me this way and guess what? I love it!" I yelled.
My father stood up and got right in front of me. I thought he was going to hit me but Mom stood behind him and put a hand on his shoulder. "You go off and break up with her now. I refuse to have a pathetic homo as a daughter. If you don't. Then you don't get to live here. You decide not to then you best walk out that door and never come back."
My mouth dropped. I can't believe what he was saying.
"Hun. Don't you think you're going a bit too far?" My mother asked my father.
"I never said that dear. But kicking out our only daughter is not something I want." She said.
"Then you best hope she makes the right decision."
shit. shit. shit.
Break up with my girlfriend. Who I love so much. Or never see my family again.
My brothers. My mother. My grandparents.
...
Family comes first.
"Fine. I'll do it." Tears were streaming down my face. "But I'm not doing this for you. I'm doing this because I love my family. Not you." I spat in his face then walked out the door and got into my car and drove down to Emily's house
*End of FlashBack*
What did I just do? I just broke up with the women I love because my father is some freakish homophobic man.
God, what was I thinking?
If they can't accept me then why should I give in to what they want?
No. If they can't accept me then that's there own fault. They either accept me and have me in their lives or not accept me and never see me again. It's there own fault.
I'm getting my Emily back.
I just have to figure out how to do it. In a way that shows how sorry I am.
And way to show how much I truly love her.
