I wake up as usual and walk to the living room. Everyone is laughing and having a blast. The Tv is turned on and Ben is flipping through channels. Seems like today everyone is in a good mood. Wonder why.
Ben flips across the news channel, "now regardin-" then flips off. "W-wait wait wait! Ben go back! I think that was from around my block!" I say. Ben looks at me a second before flipping the channel back.
"And it would appear that around five cars piled up in this accident leaving seven casualties and one death, a young man named Jackson Evens was reported to have died instantly in the collision according to paramedics. Authorities claim that the second driver in the incident was intoxicated and is now under arrest..." and so the woman goes on.
I feel myself start to shut down at the mention of the name. My best friends name was just called through. I start to wail up in year shut quickly correct myself. "Ah. Ok. Hey, I'm heading out. I need to get in some practice..." I lie. I then turn to the door ignoring the smell of breakfast cooking in the kitchen. Once I'm in the yard the tears start flowing out. I run faster and faster trying to get away from the mansion. Can't let little Sally see me cry... though that's not the reason I want to get away from the mansion.
See, when I get angry or my emotions spike, I lose control of my powers a little.
As I suspected lightning forms all around me threatening to kill anything in its path. The electric currents look like lightening, and its cool and all, but that's not my main concern. I sling my arm in front of me now that I'm about a mile away from the mansion. The currents slither around my arm like snakes, but I can't feel a thing. I let out a small whimper as the news flashes across my mind. "-Jackson Evens was reported to have died instantly in the collision according to paramedics." my heart lurches and I pull my left hand up and squeeze my hoodie letting out a sob. The lightning like currents around my left hand seem to thicken in response. Some of the trees around me start to twiddle away and die, because I can't generate electricity but I can control it. Except right now, I can't see anything.
I can see the trees in front of me, the rocks by my feet, the birds flying over head, all in color. But I can't see it at the same time. Like I'm blinded by rage except I'm not angry. Pain and confusion takes over and I just scream.
The blueish white lightning turns purple and red as it shoots around twenty feet in front of me. The forest starts to catch fire as trees fall and animals run. I let out a few more cries before shaking away my thoughts. I let the tears stream down my face as I approach the flames. They're somewhat normal but definitely different. They have a small blue glow from them. And red and blue fire usually co-exist but not like this. Its like they're fighting to be the color of the flame.
I lose interest right away as I realise he mess I've made. I sigh and sniffle a second before raising my palm again. An electrical current is formed but I don't do anything to it. For a second I let it build, and then I let it soar. After its done flailing I have a tame current. With it I start to build up the power again but before it finishes I drop my arm and disperse the energy sending winds in every direction.
I could care less about the power of the winds, they put out the fires so whatever. I stand still, in the eye of my miniature wind storm. Some of the wind bounces off the trees and sends a soothing breeze back at me. It hits me gently and I close my eyes trying to find some sort of joy in it. The breeze flows through my hair and mask and then, I see him. I see his smile, his arms outstretched to hug me, he looked to be around fifteen in this memory. My best friend...

"Hey (y/n)! Welcome back! How was training?" Ben asks smugly. I shrug, my mask hiding my fear stained face. Everyone still has this happy atmosphere but I can't help but ruin that. I need to get cleaned up.
I walk up to the bathroom I normally use and shut the door. I look at myself in the mirror and take my mask off. My eyes are still red and my cheeks bright pink. I sigh shaking and turn on the sink water splashing it against my skin. The cold water sends a small chill through my body giving me goosebumps.
Looking back in the mirror I see my color fading some finally, and behind me a smug looking Ben. I look over to where my mask was sitting and what do you know, Ben is twirling it around his finger.
"Nice to finally see your face (y/n). You know, I followed you into the woods and boy what a show! Who would have known you weren't just a useless wannabe pasta. And not the damn noodle." he says somewhat jokingly. I shift uneasily and look around for a defense. "I get it. Your best friend was just killed and you got angry and felt sad so you took it out on some trees. Sorry to seem insensitive but that was sort of epic." he continues. I growl shocking his hand a little and taking my mask. "Ow! Hey!" he snarls. "Bye Ben. Talk later." I say. I'm not in the mood for this shit. I just want to lay in bed... Just for a while...
Just....sleep......
