You rested your head on your hand as you day dreamed about Spider-man whilst you aimlessly scribbled love hearts all over your notebook. You were meant to be doing homework but living with the Avengers you found it hard to concentrate. Especially since somewhere near you Spider-man was walking around. If only you knew who he really was, but your father made it very clear no one, even you, would know until the time was right. Even Captain Rogers hadn't any real idea who it was, not that he cared much. Spider-man had his back if he needed it, that's all he focused on.
"Hey, Y/N." Peter's voice woke you up from your day dreaming of being saved by Spider-man for the millionth time that day.
You quickly closed your book throwing it into your bag before answering. "He-Hey, peter." You waved your hand at him. "What are, you doing, here?" You asked him.
"Hmm... I, was with your dad." He answered with a nod, taking a seat next to you.
You frowned a little at him. Your dad was in the lab working on some new weapons for the team, including Spider-man. "Oh... where, is he? I haven't seen him yet." You lied. You had when he picked you up from school telling you your mother was once again letting you down. Who'd have thought Tony would have been the responsible parent?
"He's, in his office. I was helping with a new, filing system." He answered once again with a smug smile.
Raising your eyebrow at him, you thought about why he'd make a lame lie like that up? Tony hated filing and doing real businessman work, even with help. Why do you think he had Pepper for so long? She was the real boss. "Okay. Well, I best be off. Got a lot of revision and what not." You waved goodbye as you headed off towards the elevator. You pressed the button for yours and your fathers floor as well as the lab one.
You were going to find out what was going on. Every time you questioned Peter about what he was doing around, he gave you a bogus answer like filing. Especially when you knew Tony was in the lab. Peter had no reason to be in there, hell Iron Man was your dad and unless he gave you the nod you weren't allowed on the damn floor. You'd definitely make Tony see how pissed off you were if he was letting Peter go wherever he liked.
Peeking round the corner of the lab you couldn't see you father or Doctor Banner so you quickly entered, careful not to touch anything. You might be annoyed but the last thing you wanted was to set some alien gizmo off and end up causing another war. You'd had enough of them already. You began beaming when your eyes landed on what looked like a new Spider-man suit. He had to be here somewhere, other wise why would it be out? You slowly walked up to it, placing your hand on the arm of the suit, gasping as you felt it under your fingertips.
"Y/N Stark, what on Earth are you doing?" You spun round when you heard your father's stern voice behind you.
Your eyes widened as you thought of an answer. "Peter said-"
"Damn that kid. You tell him to keep his mouth shut and-"
"Eh?" You creased your brow completely lost as to what your father was going on about.
"Don't say anything, okay? God, if it gets out that he's Spider-man, who knows-" he sighed dramatically sitting in his chair.
Your mouth hung low as you stared at your father. Did he just- "Peter's. Spider. Man?" you asked.
Tony lifted his gaze noticing your lack of knowledge of the subject. "Crap! He didn't- I- crap!" He dropped his head into his hands groaning when he realised he was the one to drop the ball.
You frowned slightly at him. "Why didn't you tell, me?" You asked.
"It's for your own good, Y/N. It's bad enough that I'm, your dad and you live here. One less person to cause you danger, I'm sorry but-" you ran forwards and wrapped your arms around him, almost knocking him off his chair. Tony wrapped his arms around you quickly, holding you close to his chest.
"I love you, dad." you whispered, smiling to yourself.
Tony sighed deeply, nodding as he squeezed you tighter. "I love you too, kid." he placed a kiss on your hairline, smiling softly. The two of you stayed like that for a while before Tony spoke again. "Now that you know Peter is Spider-man, does it mean you will no longer fancy him? Spider-man, I mean."
You unraveled your arms and quickly stepped back. "I don't fancy, him." you answered. "Why would you think, I fancy him?" you frowned a little.
Tony through his head back laughing. "Sweetheart, every note book or piece of paper you get your hands on, has I heart SM with a little spider doodle." he said as he spun round in his chair, rummaging through his papers until he found a scrap of paper with the exact thing on that he had said. Your eyes widened as he quickly snatched it from his hands saying goodbye and leaving the lab.
As the week passed the more you found yourself wanting to spend time with Peter and the less you found yourself daydreaming about Spider-man. You didn't tell Peter you knew who he was, you didn't want him to worry. You had always liked Peter, he was a lovely young man and always made you smile.
You sighed down the phone as you waited for Happy to answer. Voicemail. "Happy, where are you? I finished my extra study like half an hour ago. You said you'd be waiting for me. Shall I make my own way home? Hope you're okay, bye." you hung up, putting your phone away.
Tony had been sent on a mission with the Avengers last night so that meant Happy was the one making sure you were safe getting to and from the facility. You didn't really need anyone to look after you. You had F.R.I.D.A.Y there to keep an eye on you and you were almost 16. But knowing Happy was always on the end of the phone for you gave you some comfort, so when he wasn't answering it worried you a little bit. Getting bored of waiting you decided to walk for the bus. You may be Iron Man's daughter but you weren't a stranger to public transport (not that your father knew). As you walked made your way through the streets you kept trying to call Happy, getting nothing.
You couldn't shake the feeling that someone was watching you but every time you turned around to see, no one was there. Suddenly you came to a stop when you collided with a body. Gasping you looked up coming face to face with some shifty looking man. "So-Sorry, si-sir!" you gulped as you stepped round him and began walking away.
The man grabbed a hold of your hand and yanked you back, grabbing a hold of your bag. "No problem, sweetcheeks." he smirked as he tried pulling your bag off your shoulder.
"NO! GET, OFF!" you pulled it back, trying to keep a hold of your bag.
"JUST, let, go!" he pulled it as kicked you to the floor before he turned round to run when a massive web wrapped around his ankles, tripping him up and sending him to the floor face first. "AH!"
"Look man, it's not nice to-" Spider-man held your rucksack in his hands as he stared you. You watched him as he slowly made his way towards you. "Are you okay, Y/N- I mean, ma'am-ma'am." he coughed, trying to disguise his voice as he held his hand out for you to take.
You nodded gulping as you got to your feet. "I am..." you smiled softly taking your bag from him. You leaned up and pressed a kiss to his cheek, smirking to yourself. "Thank you... Peter." you whispered turning round and quickly walked off down the street.
"WAIT!" Peter shouted after you. When you turned to look back, he wasn't there. "Psst." you looked down an ally seeing a cobweb trail and began following it.
"Peter?..." you whispered peeking round a dumpster, catching him pulling a shirt on no longer in his Spider-man suit. You closed your eyes stepping back. "Hmm... Peter?"
He cleared his throat as he stood in front of you. "Yeah." he placed his hand on your shoulder "You okay? I saw what that guy did." you nodded smiling at him, thanking him again. "So, how'd, you know that, I was, ya'know... " he shrugged rubbing the back of his neck.
"Spider-man?" you asked with a small smirk. He nodded blushing a little. "Dad, kinda let it slip, last week." you smiled.
"Last week? Why'd you only wait until now?" he frowned a little.
You shrugged blushing. "I- I prefer you." you smiled at him, biting your lip as you played with the dirt under your foot.
Peter nodded slowly, his face heating up again. "Oh... good..." he chuckled as slipped his hand into his pocket, pulling a small scrap of paper out of his pocket. "So, shall I just get rid of this?" He winked showing you the piece of paper that had I heart Spider-man scribbled on it. Your eyes widened as your face burned profusely with embarrassment. "Don't worry, I heart Y/N Stark."
"Oh... good..."
