mila sat with her legs crossed and her hands gripping the blanket that laid over their laps tightly. she gripped danny's hand as the movie started and the first scene came up and the audio rang through out the theater.
the iconic character she had always loved was now dead and tears stained her eyes, but that wasn't the only reason. tom holland sat a few rows away from here, his eyes focused on the screen, desperate to not turn her way.
she wiped her eyes and tried to make it seem like the emotions were coming just from the movie, someone of them were, mila knew tom hiddelston has done an amazing job during loki's death.
he was on of her favorites after all.
but it wasn't just that.
It was the memory of what had happened five months prior to the release, it was the fact she lost her best friend over a misunderstanding and that he wouldn't talk or even look at her.
she wanted to apologize and try to explain that the asshole had kissed her, she never wanted it, she wanted tom.
and why he was there in the first place, why he walked in on the worst moments of her life, was still a mystery no one would answer, not even her dad.
all she wanted was her best friend.
she wanted to hear his laugh, wanted to watch him throw the ball for tessa as he told her stories about the small pup. mila wanted to spam him pictures of her own dog, with the promise that one day, they would introduce the two and maybe they would become friends.
puppy play dates, was what they had called them.
"are you okay?" lily whispered, leaning over her boyfriends shoulder.
"no." mila responded. "i am not okay."
and it was the truth. she wasn't.
