It was 2am when Chris finally pulled into a motel parking lot. He was too tired to care where he was. He would get some sleep, check out the town for a local bar and check out the local "scenery" tomorrow. Chris parked his bike and slid off the seat. He pulled off his helmet, took off his gloves and stuck them into his helmet. Chris grabbed a few things from the saddle bag on his bike and headed to the front desk. Little did he know, the young lady at the desk was watching him the whole time.

"Welcome to Cactus Creek, Arizona." The young lady said flipping her hair and giving him a flirtatious smile.

Chris ran his hand through his hair and said, "Hey cutie, I need a room for a night or two."

He then gave her one of his heart stopping smiles and a wink. She smiled.

"There is extra room at my place if you like." She said sweetly.

"Slow down sweetheart. I have been on the road a long time and I need sleep." He told her.

As she started to reserve him a room, she looked deflated and he added, "But I might take you up on that offer tomorrow, if you will be sharing that bed with me." Chris said flirtatiously.

She smiled up at him and finished his reservation. As she handed him his papers she also slipped him her number. He leaned over the counter and kissed her check. Then he grabbed the papers and the key and headed to his room.

Chris found his room with no trouble. He unlocked the door and walked in. He flipped on the light switch and set his stuff down. He decided he needed a shower to relax his sore and tired muscles. He went over to the bathroom and switched on the water.

As he waited for it to heat up he turned on the shower for some background noise. He flipped through the channels for something good. Once he found it he moved to peel off his clothes and jump in the shower. As the warm spray relaxed his tired and stiff body his mind wondered to the girl that he kept thinking about since he met her a week ago at the gas station.

Chris couldn't understand why thoughts of her kept creeping into his thoughts but it did. Nothing else and no one else seemed to satisfy him. Oh sure he flirted and took women to bed. But every time he was with someone he could only think of her.

He finished his shower. He wrapped a towel around his waist. Then grabbed one to dry his hair as he went into the bed room. He grabbed a pair of boxers and put them on. He then laid down and tried to watch TV however he was too tired and turned it off.

He looked down at the clear crystal on a tie wrapped to his arm. He looked at it more and more lately trying to see if anything changed. His father always told him it would change some day and he would know everything he needed when the time came.

Chris thought he saw something the day at the gas station when he met a princes driving a bucket but it was a quick nothing. He even called his brother Jason and asked him of his did anything but he said no.

Jason and Chris were twins. They both had crystals since birth with the only instruction to never take them off. They asked their parents over and over again but every time it was the same thing. The crystals are special just like you, when its time you will know. Their mom wore one. It was on a black silk choker but it was sun yellow in the shape of two leafs. They never saw one on their dad however there was a line on his wrist from where a chain that he said one used to be and never said more than that.

If only he could call someone for answers. He could always call some family or his god father he would know. Tonight was not that night. Chris drifted off to sleep thinking about the beauty he met at a gas station and a crystal that raised more questions than answers. As his eyes began to close the crystal flickered sky blue.
