Rebecca's Escape

Chapter 10

Chris couldn't believe what the saw. The crystal had changed. It had never changed. Well, other than the other night when he saw something. At the time he brushed it off as sleep deprived but now he was not so sure.

He drove his bike all the way back to the hotel like the hounds of hell where on his tail. It wasn't a long drive to where he was staying but it seemed like it took forever to get there. A right here and three lights down then a left he said anything to keep from thinking about her and the questions he now had. Finally, he was at the hotel. Chris pulled into the parking lot, screeched to a halt, shut his bike off and booked it up stairs

Once in his hotel room he tore off his helmet and paced the room. He didn't know what the hell was going on and it frustrated him to no end. He rubbed his hands for the hundredth time through his hair and finally decided to call his god father he would know something. Chris pulled his phone out of his jacket pocket and hit speed dial number 3.

"Hello?" said a very sleepy voice.

"Godfather, something is wrong!" Chris said in a much panicked voice.

"It's happened, hasn't it?" A now very alert Jerry Altima said.

"I don't understand." Chris said as he fell into the bed.

"Close your eyes it will come to you." Jerry said with a deep breath.

Chris closed his eyes and took a deep breath. All of a sudden it hit him. Chris dropped his phone and grabbed his head as all the info he needed suddenly downloaded in his head. All of the questions he ever had about the crystal were answered. As quickly as the pain started it stopped. Chris took some deep breaths to try and slow his racing heart and picked the phone back to his ear.

"Is that...?" Chris said trying to find the right words.

"There is much to explain and not a lot of time. So shut up and let me tell you what's up." Jerry said with an annoyed voice at being woken up at two in the morning.

45 minutes and a long explanation later...

"Before you go Chris there is one more thing I need to tell you." Jerry said.

"What more could you possibly have to say." Chris said still unable to believe any of it.

"The bond that is between siblings is strong but with twins even more so. Since you found your partner first, you will also find his for him. You may not know it at the time but a part of you will be drawn to her. Tread softly, you will have to explain things to him when the time comes." Jerry said then hung up the phone.

Chris hung up with his godfather. He didn't know how to make heads or tails of the information his godfather had told him or the information came to him with no reason or rhyme. All of a sudden it was just there. It was a part of him like it had been there his whole life. Chris got off the bed and headed for a shower. If everything he learned was true he had some work to do.

A long warm shower and part of his plan was decided, Chris decided to hit the sack as it was going to be a long day tomorrow and he needed rest if he was going to get it all done. He hoped and prayed that his girl, his princess, would forgive him or at least willing to hear him out and not shoot him down on sight.

Chris laid down and looked at his crystal and how it had changed to its final form. It was beautiful just like her. It was a diamond shaped pendent, sparkling sky blue in color. It was amazing how it started as a rough clear crystal with no shape or color and it transformed into this beautiful pendent. He already decided to get a navy silk choker for the pendent. It will look gorgeous on her smooth, slender neck.

With his mind made up he took one last look at the pendent and went to bed.
