the wind blew gently, and the sunset looks beautiful as ever. a perfect time to stroll around the park, alone with no one to disturb you.

i slightly smiled at the beautiful sunset, admiring the beauty.

i stroll a little further and ended up at the playground, which the colour is a little bit bland but still cute.

i used to play here with my cousins, i wonder if they still remember this place.

as i make my way to the swing, i saw a man sitting on one of them, back facing me and looking at the gorgeous sunset.

why is he alone?

i take a step closer to the brunette man, who is currently wearing a light pink hoodie and jeans.

i accidentally stepped on a stick, which make noise that alarmed the man.

he flinched and turned his head to see, and that's when i saw his face.

"...huh?" the man said, looking at me with his honey brown eyes.

i looked at him, and i noticed that his eyes are teary, and his nose are slightly red.

"h-hi! i thought no one is here, so i uh, walked to the swing to play with them and then i noticed there are someone here," i said quickly, and awkwardness began taking over the vibe between us.

he widened his eyes and quickly rub it with his bare hands, "s-sorry! i will leave now, sorry for bothering y-" i cut him off, "no, no, no you're not! i'm the one that should apologize since i'm the one that came here and disturbed you!"

he stood up and bowed to me, "no, no, i'm sorry, you can play with the swing now!" he said, gesturing to the swing. (there's actually two seats though.)

i got flustered and rubbed my nape, "uh, no! no, you can go ahead and play with it, i'm fine!" i spoke, smiling awkwardly to him.

silence took over us, and i chuckled to break the silence. "actually, there's two seats, we can have each for ourselves." i pointed to the second swing.

"a-ah, yes! go ahead, sit here! no, i mean- if you don't want to, it's completely fine!" he said, with his cheeks getting redder.

i nodded my head and sat on the swing next to the one he's currently sitting on.

we both kept quiet, not knowing what to say after the intense apologizing situation.

not wanting the awkward feeling to take over us, i started a conversation.

"hey, are you okay?"

he looked at me, surprised at the words that came out of my mouth. "i... yes, i'm fine." he answered my question, softening his voice.

i smiled at him, "i don't want to butt into your business, but i thought i saw your eyes teary back then." i continued the coversation, slowly controlling the swing i sat on.

he chuckled a bit, and rubbed his nape, "yeah, i guess you noticed. i was crying." he said, checking to see if there's still some tears on his eyes.

"well, i don't want to bother you or anything.. but mind if i ask you why you're crying?" i asked, looking at his wet sleeve, poor man must have wiping it over and over again to stop the tears.

he stared at the grass, for a while.

"i was just crying over how i am so pathetic. you see, i'm really insecure. i hate everything about me." he confessed, avoiding eye contact.

i was completely speechless, how can he feels so insecure when his face is so charming the first time i saw him?

i kept silent, thinking about what to say. afraid that i will say the wrong thing and hurt his feelings.

"i don't know what to say, but i hope you feel better soon." i reassured him.

his lips curved up, smiling to my words.

we chatted and chatted, until i decided to check the time.

"oh, hold on, i gotta check the time." i raised my arm and pulled the sleeve so i can see my watch.

my eyes went wide and immediately grabbed my bag, and stood up quickly.

"oh no, it's too late! i'm sorry, i have to go back to home. see you around?" i asked, offering a handshake.

he smiled and took the handshake, i immediately changed my direction.

"hey wait!"

i looked back.

"i don't think i catch your name yet?" he said, his face getting more red.

i smiled, chuckling at his face. "it's (your name), how about you?" i asked back, making eye contact with him.

he kept quiet, "フード." he answered back, i nodded and waved at him as i rushed to my home.
