FALLING FOR THE MAN IN A MASK

CHAPTER ONE

Emily's POV

Ah new York. The big old city. I don't think I will ever get over its beautiful city. Its been a week already and its beauty never seize to amaze me. Its so beautiful it makes me fill jealous and not to brag but I have had three guys already ask me out which means I am pretty but this big buildings its  like they have a different story behind them. I really hoped I had a chance to came here early and not spent all my twenty two years in that prison cell I call home but now is not the time for such awful thoughts I need to get to work. I work at an GMC one of the biggest museum in American. I work there as a receptionist and I must admit it's a good pay. I woke up and went to the closet and looked for something more legit for work and decided on a pencil skirt and a pink tank top with same pumps. I have to wake up extra early because I don't have a car and I am planning on it that's why I am staying in the most low ranked part of town though my apartment is not that bad its actually its a two bedroom apartment with one bathroom a living room and a small kitchen. Its a far enough price  for me. When I headed out of the house I saw my  creepy neighbour  the only thing I have seen so far which is unpleasant in this city. A fifty year old man hitting on a twenty two years old. I mean came on a thirty years difference. He was about to came to me when I rushed to the cab and told the cab to hurry up.

" trouble with your father" see even the guy thinks he is old enough to  be my father.

" no its just neighbour I really badly need to avoid "

" oh" was all he said before we fell into silence. Not an awkward silence though a comfortable one.

He stopped in the building where I worked the huge building of GMC. I walked out of the cab straight to the building. Great not any minute late just in time. I walked to the receptionist table and began my work. I received a few calls  from people most who want to book the museum for hosting certain parties. After hours of phone calls the day finally came to an end. I headed out of the building to a cafe to meet my newly made friends Mia and Lizzy. I meet them at my first day here and they were really nice to me. They even help me find my apartment. They are really starting to grow on me. I mean who wouldn't love them with  Mia's bubbly personality and Lizzy's nerd but sarcastic personality. Today we going to the cafe to..  Well hang out which will end up with us discussing  Mia's love life and damn that girl has a terrible taste in man. Her relationships never last more than two weeks. Oh so I've been told.

I stood outside for about an hour before my taxi came and to tell you I was mad at him was an understatement. I was furious at the dude. I mean I called him a long time ago and he said he was nearing but instead made me wait thirty minutes in the streets. He should have told me to find someone but no he  was to selfish.

I climbed in the cab and made sure close the door so had that I even had him flinch. That servers him right for make a lady like me wait. I could see he was angry but he didn't say a word and to say I was ready for him was an understatement. I was so ready to give him a piece of my own mind but since he kept quit I decided it wasn't worth it. Once I was out of the cab and took slow towards the cafe sure to server my last moments of  earth sure Mia would kill me and Lizzy would just watch.

Once I was in I spotted the two of them easily because it wasn't to crowded. I took a seat next to Lizzy avoiding Mia like a plague.

" uh ... Where the fuck have you been!!" Mia shouted and I just prayed to Jesus to talk for me to the Lord so they arrange a place in haven.

" got stuck in traffic " I said with a shrug and look down at the menu . I already knew what I wanted we came here all the time since we met. This was like out hang out spot " so traffic took my whole nice thirty minutes !!!"  I was about to answer  but she beat  me to it. " but that's alright since I'm in good mood today. Guess what!"

" you won lottery! "

" no gee! Justin asked me out!! " " I mean how cool is that he is so hot just like a piece of meat. I could devour him all night and never get tired of him " she said daydreaming about him.

" Mia!! You just made me lose my love for meat!" Lizzy complained for the first time in our conversation.

" Mia you probably going to scare the poor guy away" I said pretending to be scared for Justin.

" Emily we both know Justin is not innocent "  she said in a serious tone causing me to laugh a little. Sure Justin was not innocent he was what was considered to be a player but then again those are the type of guys Mia ends up with.

" Mia have you ever considered dating a guy who does not fall under the category of Playboy " Lizzy suggested with her eyes still not living the TV screen and I gotta say that girl really loves her sport.

" aw sweety and where would be the fun in that " she said flipping her causing me and Lizzy to roll our eyes

" and then you still came back crying when you know what you were getting yourself in" Lizzy commented still not averting her gaze from the big screen.

" it was once and I thought Derrick loved me" Mia whined

" oh! Well then good luck "

" ya sure Mia good luck" I said getting up " oh and please use protection I'm not ready for a niece" I said smirking " well then Lizzy  is ready right Liz? "

" you bring that filthy thing to my house then consider yourself dead" Lizzy said causing all of us to laugh.

" any way goodbye. I have to make sure I'm ready for work and by that I mean sleep"
