~John's (POV)~

School sucks, it's first hour and Nicole hasn't showed up yet. I don't blame her, but now I was lowered to the standards of talking to guys on the football team who just wanted answers for the homework. I had been texting and calling her all week but she never replied to me, I shouldn't have done what I did. If only she'd seen it my way, I'm just protecting her. That's all I want is her to be safe and happy but she can't see that, all she thinks is that this is causing unwanted attention. I beg to differ but still.

"Class dismissed!" The teacher yelled as I was pulled out of my thoughts. Now it was lunch because we had a half day today. I went over to my locker to put my stuff away and turned around to see Tavi, Darius, and Cope.

"What's up?" I asked looking at them, they hadn't talked to me since the situation at the diner.

"I heard your girl is here, she didn't come to first hour because she was helping some teacher. Have you seen her yet?" Cope asked as I shook my head.

"No I haven't...she's a bit upset with me at the moment." I said while leaning against my locker.

"I'd clear that up soon, there's a bunch of guys wanting her since you have her now." Tavi said as I rolled my eyes. They won't do shit that's for sure.

"Oh look here comes little miss devil right now." Darius said while nudging me, I looked up to see Nicole walking towards us. Holy fuck. If I've ever seen any high school movie this is exactly what this was. It went in slow motion as Nicole walked up to me, she was wearing a short black dress with cut outs at the top. She looked fucking hot, I couldn't describe it any other way. I was confused as she walked up right to me and placed a kiss on my cheek.

"Hey babe." Nicole said making me smile softly, she really wanted to play this game.

"Hey, what're you doing after school?" I asked while looking her over.

"I was gonna hang out with you, is that okay?" Nicole said with a mischievous smile on her face.

"More than okay..." I said while letting out a breath I didn't know I was holding in.

"Good, I'm gonna go put my stuff in my locker away. Wanna come?" Nicole asked as I nodded my head. The guys looked at me and started whispering to each other, I rolled my eyes as I followed behind Nicole. She was wearing black heels and they made her legs look amazing. That's weird, why am I thinking like that? She started it, teasing me and all.

"Really?" I asked as I leaned on the locker next to Nicole's.

"What?" She asked while putting her books away.

"You know what I'm talking about Nicole." I said in a lower voice.

"No I don't believe I do, John." She said making me shake my head, she's cute when she's mad.

"Oh come on, the whole 'babe' thing?" I asked making Nicole laugh.

"I thought that's what you wanted? Wasn't it? I do recall you telling me to act like your girlfriend." Nicole said as she shut her locker. I chuckled making her frown slightly.

"It is, it's just that I thought you still were upset with me." I said as we walked down the hall to the cafeteria.

"Oh I am. Very much so, but don't worry I'll keep up this whole little act for you." Nicole said I dipped my head rubbing my hand over my face before looking back at her.
