~Amber~

I woke up to the ringing of my cellphone. I looked at my clock. 5:00 am was

flashing on the screen. I groaned and checked my phone. 1 missed call. I called

the number back just to check and make sure it wasn't that serious.

"Amber?" A man's voice sounded.

"Yes, this is she." I answered the man. He seemed stressed and overworked.

"This is Cupid." The voice stated.

"Yeah and I'm Santa." I laughed.

"Amber, I'm serious. Can you do me a favor?" 'Cupid' asked.

"Sure." I said a little more serious than before.

"I'm taking a day off. Family business. I need you to be Cupid for the day." The man said.

"You want me to be Cupid for the day." I repeated.

"Yes. Please Amber, you are my last hope." The man begged.

"Okay okay, I'll be Cupid." I agreed.

"I'll send you the powers and instructions to your house. Thank you Amber." The man said and I nodded.

I forgot that he couldn't see me so I said you're welcome and we said our goodbyes and hung up. Eh, I'll sleep till 8.

That was when he said the stuff would be there.

My phone rang and woke me up. I groaned again and looked at the clock. It flashed 8:00 this time and I knew that I had to get up.

I got up and got ready. After I got ready, I came out looking like this. I looked at my reflection in the mirror and I smiled.

I went downstairs and there was a box that was untouched on the floor by the door.

"Guess that's from Cupid." I mumbled.

I picked the box up and set it gently on the table.

"What's that?" A voice said sleepily behind me.

I jumped like 2 feet in the air and I saw that it was Clark.

"Don't scare me like that." I said clutching my chest.

He let out a husky laugh that made me shiver in excitement. A man's sleepy voice is a woman's music to her ears. I swear to god.

"I'm sorry Amber, I didn't mean to." Clark smiled amusingly and I scoffed.

"Whatever." I smiled at him.

"Well anyway, what is that?" He chuckled, pointing at the box.

"It is my business, not yours." I said and he smiled.

"Okay, don't get hurt." He smiled and went up the stairs.

I shook my head and I looked at the box.

"Well, I guess I unwrap you now." I shrugged and I opened the box with a knife.

I quickly ripped apart the box itself, out of curiosity.
