Chapter-3-The Twist

Leo found himself in a familiar hallway. There were posters stuck on the wall and lockers on either side. This place was strangely familiar but Leo was blank. Out of the blue came Ellen, but she wasn't alone. She was holding hands with a man in a football jersey. Leo panicked and shouted out to Ellen but she turned around and walked away.

Leo woke up startled, beads of sweat were dripping from his forehead. He stole a glance at the clock, the time was 9:45 AM. It took him a while to realise that all this was a dream." phew....," exclaimed Leo as he got off his bed. He went over to his desk to check his to-do list but the to-do list was gone. Leo panicked"I kept the list right here where did it go, did Ellen take it(Leo is pretty dumb for the short period after waking up) or maybe?" muttered Leo as he ran down to check on his sister. Leslie was sitting in the dining room reading a bunch of papers that looked vaguely familiar to Leo."So long day ahead huh?" enquired Leslie"Number 1, Go supply shopping with Ellen in the afternoon, Number 2, Party at Francysts place," Leslie continued reading and then asked Leo"Shopping with Ellen that's cute, a very bad pun used in the second line but what's this here, you've written a cute dear diary note, "Francis does not deserve Ellen."Ellen was more surprised than shocked, Leo liking Ellen no problem but Leo having a personal vendetta, that was very rare and astonishing.

Leo blushed, he felt a feeling of impending doom.*Ding*rang the door-bell, Leo walked towards the door to open it but his sister raced him to it. She opened the door first and found Leslie and Clausen restlessly waiting."Good morning," said Leslie as she welcomed Lara and Clausen inside."Its been a long time since I last saw you guys," Leslie slowly distracted them into the dining room."Yes its been a lon....," Lara was interrupted by Leslie"No formalities, let's speak heart to heart, I'm pretty sure you guys know what my brother is up to."Oh you mean Leo liking Ell......," Clausen received a direct kick to his shin from Lara, "Do you mean Leo with his studies," enquired Lara in a composed tone."No,I mean what Clausen tried telling," said Leslie as she showed Leos to-do list to Lara and Clausen. Surprised Lara and Clausen looked at each other, "So Clausen, my best bud won't you tell your close friend about her brother?" persuaded Leslie. Clausen couldn't help it but narrate the incident at the cafe and Ellen's backstory. Leslie was awestruck, she was not able to respond. Leo trying for a girl who has a boyfriend, that by itself was a story waiting for a Pulitzer prize. Leslie spent an hour trying to piece together the information that she gathered."Ill help, I don't have much to do anyway, my experience outlives all of you, "Leslie couldn't help but brag. Leo sighed"Fine whatever, as long as you don't embarrass me."Leslie burst into laughter, seeing her Lara and Clausen joined the parade. Leo was not able to connect to the situation so he decided to go freshen up while the others continued in their glee. It was an hour before noon, Leo came out dressed in a formal attire consisting of a white shirt and a bowtie(of course he wore a pant, no doubt). Seeing Leo the laughter club began their session again."Pffftt...Who wears a bowtie"teased Clausen."Leo...Pfftt...You look sooo handsom...pfffftt," they all broke into laughter. Leo decided to ignore them, he went and took a seat in the living room. He took out his phone and pulled out Ellen's contact, right when he decided to call he felt a strange feeling."Why not I go and wait for Ellen at the mall, that will definitely boost my chances with Ellen," thought Leo. He got up and prepared to leave. As he left Leslie said"Good Luck and tell me what happens k?" Leo smiled as he left."Leo has grown, but this Francis dude can't be all bad right?" questioned Leslie."The consequences of what Francis will do to Leo if he gets to know are too large, so let's cool our engines and wait it out," commented Lara.

"It'll be 3 dollars," said the shopkeeper as he handed Leo a water bottle."Here you go, "Leo walked away from the counter towards the mall center. Suddenly his phone began ringing,he pulled his phone out of his pocket. Leos' hands began shaking, Ellen was calling him. Leo dropped his bottle and the spare change he had been holding, he picked up all his belongings and walked to the nearest seating area. He calmed himself down and answered the phone, "He...Hello," trembled Leo as he spoke."Leo why are you always nervous and also where you at, I'm here at the supermarket in the mall, "Leo dropped dead silent and turned around as fast as he could, where he found her standing outside the supermarket. She wore a white skirt that matched her blonde hair perfectly. Without further delay, Leo got up and moved towards Ellen.

While all this heat was taking place an investigating team of three was dispatched to monitor the situation."Do you think Leo has what it takes," said voice 1"Maybe he'll surprise us the same way he surprised me, why do I have such a shady person for a brother," said voice 2."SHhhh,guys quiet he may hear us we are only 10 steps behind him,"said voice 3. The investigating team hence continued their investigations following them never letting Leo get out of their sight.

"There it is, that's the place where I wanted to eat for soo long, can we go eat there please please please," said Ellen as she pulled Leo into the restaurant, Leos' face was as red as a chilli."We would like a seat for two," asked Ellen."Of course right this way," as the waiter guided them Leos right pocket began feeling heavy. Leo and Ellen kept their bags down and they took their respective seats. As Leo opened the menu card his right pocket became irresistibly annoying. He finally understood what was happening, the restaurant threatened the existence of his purse. Not a single dish satisfied his budget. He looked at Ellen and was happy to notice the same reaction."I don't feel hungry anymore, why not we just have coffee," said Ellen. They gave their respective orders, the table was awfully silent, suddenly"So Leo, Hows life we don't talk like before, we used to be besties right," said Ellen, Leo nodded in agreement"my life is going as it has always been," lamented Leo. Seeing Leos reaction Ellen decided to lighten things up but the next question from Ellen shook Leo to his roots, "So, are you seeing someone?"
