michael wakes to the overwhelming smell of coffee, he smiles, the aroma warm and comforting. he soon finds himself being pulled towards the wonderous smell after applying yet another jumper over his other two, he can't help it if he's cold, it's winter.

he walks like a zombie towards the kitchen and pours himself some of the steamy beverage. he doesn't care about the amount of calories that the drink contain, because coffee is his only exception. the only exception to his vegan ways. he sips the hot beverage and leans back against the counter, closing his eyes in delight. it had been too long since he'd had coffee and oh how he missed it. he didn't care if it burnt his tongue and throat as he continued to drink the beverage with the faint sound of a shower turning on in the background.

for the first time since he's been here he gets a good look at the apartment. it was fairly nice, the couch was black and leather, the interior matched. the walls were white with black decorations lining the top, the fireplace was stone with a flat screen mounted to the wall where the stone stopped. there were some black and white paintings on some of the walls, and michael could only guess luke drew them. he would be lying if he said they weren't beautiful, because they were. the use of grey and blacks on the canvas made it look like an explosion with a person peaking out of the flowing colors. a lot of them were birds, ravens it looked like, but one in particular caught his eye. one with three boys that strongly resembled luke, ashton, and calum and for some reason it made michael smile. he wasn't upset or angry that he wasn't in the picture, he like it as is, besides, he doesn't deserve to even be in it.

"oh, hey mikey." ashton walks in, toweling his hair and pouring himself a cup of coffee as well. "we are meeting luke later today. he might have to move in with us since his art sales aren't doing to well." he explains, but michael barely moves in response. he just takes a long drink of his coffee, letting the rest of the liquid leave the small mug, leaving only the small amount of coffee grounds.

"k." he shrugs and places the empty cup in the sink and goes up to change. he decides on a dark navy jumper and black skinny jeans of course. even though it doesn't necessarily match, he sticks with the light pink flower crown, he loves how it doesn't irritate his head too much and it doesn't fall apart like some old ones did. he could've gone with the crown with the navy roses on it but he just isn't feeling it at the moment.

michael watches tv until ashton informs him that they must be going to meet luke on time. he groans and stands from his comfortable position, following ashton out the door. he never really like luke per say, he was never friends with the boy and was always quite...envious of him. luke was so talented, he had perfect skin, and perfect hair and perfect eyes, and a perfect body, luke was just perfect to michael, to everyone. his mother wanted luke to be her son instead of michael, because the tall blond was everything that michael couldnt be.

they spot luke straight away and sit down, sharing small greetings as they do.

"so why can't you live with calum again?" ashton asks with a mouthful of pasta. michael looks at luke, munching on his salad silently as they both went silent.

"he said he would've let me but he doesn't have another room." luke speaks quietly, almost afraid to let michael hear his voice. what if he doesn't like it? what if michael makes fun of him because it's too low? but the lilac boy stays quiet, his eyes averted to his greens. luke tries not to stare, but he cat help but notice how extremely thin michael has become since he'd last seen him. he likes the crown though, no ,he loves it. absolutely adores the nature involved thing on his head.

luke forces his eyes away.

"it'd be cool to have another room mate. wouldn't it, michael?" the pale boy doesn't look up from his salad as he nods. that doesn't help his nerves rest though. ashton subtly kicks his lilac friend under the table making him mumble a small 'yes.' luke decides to pretend he doesn't notice.

"let's go get your things." ashton suggests and they each pay for their own meals and exit the small shop. "i'm going to ride with luke, you follow behind us." ashton throws michael the keys to his ford and the lilac boy nods, slowly walking to the car without a word. he's not sure whether to be angry or sad that ashton totally ditched him.

it's probably because he likes luke better than him, which is totally understandable. luke isn't bipolar and he doesn't have anger issues. luke is just fuckin perfect.

michael starts the car silently, his fingers gripping the wheel almost too tightly and he's almost afraid that he'll break it. but he decides that he's fucking angry. he's so mad that ashton picked luke over himself that he almost thinks of rear ending them on purpose, almost. the drive is silent, he doesn't want to listen to the radio, so he rolls the windows down and let's the wind toss his hair around carelessly, but he glances in the mirror quite often to make sure his precious crown doesn't fly out of the window. they pull up to luke's old place and pack everything up quickly, going back to ashton's.

barely helps bring stuff in, sometimes he feels like he could pass out because he has zero to no energy most of the time. he lays in bed, listening to their soft voices through the thin walls. he isn't sure what they're saying, but he knows it isn't much. luke had always been a quiet kid and it annoyed the shit out of michael. how was he supposed to live his life normally with mr. perfect, mr. gorgeous living with him?

he sighs and decides he just wants to sleep, even if it's only 4 in the af ter noon.
