Dealing With A Wild Card

Misaka's POV

It's the next day and I had woken up before Toka, again. I started walking to her room to wake her up. Once I got to the door I opened it to see Toka laying there peacefully with her hair scattered across her eyes. I walked over to her bed and knealed down. "She looks so relaxed." I said out loud as I push back the hair out of her face and just admire her for a couple of minutes. She's pretty pale, as expected, I doubt she's really been out in the sun her whole life.

It's about time I wake her up. I sighed and tapped Tokas four-head. She mumbled something and started opening her eyes. "Morning." I said with a smile, she looked at me and grumbled. "Its time to get up, we've got school!" I shouted, "Fiiine." She said and sat up. "Why is school everyday, and why is it so early?" She asked. "I don't really know myself, but I do know you need to get up!" I explained. She sighed and stood up. "I'll meet you downstairs." I said, she nodded.

I walked downstairs to see my Mom making breakfast. "Morning." I said to her. She smiled and kept cooking. I walked into the living room and sat on the couch.

A couple of minutes later Toka came downstairs and sat on the couch with me. "Morning," she said. I smiled, "Morning." I replied. "Come in the kitchen! Breakfast is done!" My Mom shouted. "Okay!" I said and stood up. "Come on, let's go eat." I said while looking at Toka, she nodded and stood up to follow me. I walked to the kitchen and saw food on the counter and walked over to it. "Thanks Mom," I said and grabbed a plate, Toka did the same and sat at the table with me and started eating. "Ready for today?" I asked Toka, "As ready as I can be, I guess." She said. "Hm well mabey today there won't be a fight or anything." I explained, Toka nodded and kept eating.

After we were done eating, we got our shoes on and started walking out of the house.

Toka's POV

We are walking to school. It's not that eventful, putting one foot in front of the other, moving foward, in a path to get somewhere. I have my weapons on me, hidden at the moment, you never know when you'll need them, anything could happen really, from Dr.Raven to a murderer, in my eyes it's okay to have them on me, just to be prepared.

We arrive at school and walk in. There are stares again, people like to stare I guess, it's kind of annoying but, what can you do. We walk into the classroom, stares again, some glares. I sigh and sit at the desk next to Misaka. "This is annoying," I say out loud. "It probably is, people just keep staring." Misaka said. I nod and keep looking around at all the people.

  Misaka's POV

  It was the end of the day and we start walking home. Toka sighed and slouched as we walked. Then, while we were walking, a group of men started walking towards us. They looked like gang members with bandanas, tattoos, and bagy clothes. They kept getting closer and didn't look like they were stopping any time soon. Once they got close enough they stopped infront of us, "Hey girly," one said while looking at me, I cringed and looked at Toka, she looked at me and then the other men. "H-hi," I said with a stutter. "Why don't you come with us and we can play cards," the man in front of me said while smirking and pulling out a deck of cards. "N-," I was inturuped by Toka, " No, she declines." She said. The man made a tch sound and turned to Toka, "Why don't you let the girl awnser for herself and not you," the man scoughed. Toka looked at him, eyes turned red, "Because I said no." She arguded. The man walked over to Toka and towered over her more than he did me scince she was shorter than me, "And what are you going to do, looks like you can't do a damn thing with that kind of body," he said.  Toka smirked, "Take that smug look off your face." the man said, Toka looked up at him, "I don't think I will, your not taking her with you," she said. "Tch how about we settle this my way and play cards," he asked holding the cards out. "Sure, why not." Toka said still smirking. The man glared at her and dealed the cards while standing, he gave Toka her cards and gave himself his, "We're playing go fish, whoever wins says if the girl goes or not." He said Toks nodded and sat on the ground as did the man. Is she crazy?! She been in a lab her whole life! I don't think she knows how to play any card games! 

   The game started, well sort of. The man took his first turn, when it was Tokas turn she did nothing and just sat there. "Hey, To-." I was cut off by the man, "Shut up, it looks like your coming with us at this rate." He said with smirk. Toka looked at him and started luaghing. "What are you luaghing at?" the man asked. "Nothing, just what you said made me laugh!" She said and did a hand stand like position and kicked his face. The man fell backwards but quikly got up. "Everyone! Get her!" He shouted. They all started running at Toka, she jumped up and landed behind them, they turned around and ran towards her again. They all tried getting a hit on her but she dodged all of them. The men started to get mad, looking like they wanted to kill Toka but, Toka looked unfazed, like she didn't care what was happening.

  They all pulled out knifes and ran towards her. Toka jumped up in the air and with the cards she had put them all in between her fingers and swooped her hands making the cards fly straight at the men and stab them in an area of their body. I guess she used her powers either that or she's really strong. They all ran away with blood trailing them. "Toka! T-that was cool!" I shouted. "Thank you!" She looked at me, "No problem, I wasn't going to let you go with them." I smiled and nodded.

  We continued walking. "Hey how about we go to the hill and watch the sunset?" I asked. "The what." Toka said. "The sunset, it's the opposite of sunrise, so instead of the sun going up it goes down." I explained, she nodded and we kept walking to the hill.
