A week later

I was at work and I stood up so I could go and use the bathroom and when I did the bodyguards, that Davina had hired to protect me, stood up as well.

"Sit back down I'm only going to use the restroom," I said.

"Miss Jordan gave us strict orders to follow you where ever you go, including the restroom, just in case you get any ideas to ditch us."

It was an idea but I knew Davina would punish me.

"As you can see she has me working all day. She doesn't like tardiness nor does she like it when I goof around. I'm not going to get into trouble by ditching you guys."

"That very well may be but you don't have the authority to give us orders. Miss Jordan is in charge and we do as she says."

I sighed and walked to Davina's door. She had it closed which was odd...in fact, she had been acting odd all week by barricading herself in her office.

I knocked on her door.

"Come in," came her voice from the other side.

I opened the door, stepped into her office and closed the door behind me.

"Call off the dogs," I said.

"What for?"

"I need to use the restroom. I don't need someone to hold my hand!"

"You might decide to pull a runner if I call them off."

"You would punish me if I did that and I'm not going to have you yelling at me."

"So you promise you'll come right back to your desk if I tell them to wait?"

"I promise."

"Very well."

Davina and I stepped into the hallway. "Boys, let the man pee in peace. Wait here  until he leaves for the day."

Thankfully the two men sat back down in their seats.

"At least some people are obedient like good doggies," Davina quipped as she smirked at me.

"Ha Ha very funny! I know you like my disobedient ass!" I replied as I started walking away so I could use the restroom.

After I was done I walked in front of Davina's door and while I did I did a little dance I said, "TADA! I'm a big boy now by walking to the restroom all by myself without tripping over anything."

One of the bodyguards snorted. I guess he found my comment kind of funny.

Davina shot me a glare and told me to get back to work and asked me to close her door.

"Where are your manners Boss? Not even a please or a thank you?"

The bodyguard who snorted started chuckling.

"COOPER WILLIAM SMITH!" Davina said.

I glared at her and knew that I was close to being in trouble. At the dinner with my family, she caught on pretty quickly that I did not like it whenever my mom addressed me by my full name. But I will give Davina her credit, she was very sweet around my family and dare I say...even charming.

I closed her door and returned to my desk. No sooner had I sat down my phone dinged and I looked at it.

"That smart ass mouth of yours just got you in a heap of trouble. My place an hour after work. I'll make sure Braxton and Payton stop following you when you're in my home," Davina texted me.
