(AN: quick recap: after practice, Billy asked a girl to "hang out" ;)))))). slight smut warning)

The girl smiled, "Sure." Billy watched her in the rear-view mirror. She waved to her friends and they laughed, before whispering. She skipped over to the passengers side and slid into the seat. "Stacy," she said grinning.

He pulled away before responding. Billy drove in silence, Stacy only breaking it. She blabbered on about her day, and about her friend's asshole ex-boyfriend. Finally they arrived at Billy's house, and he got out of the car, grinding his cigarette butt into the dirt.

He went to the door without waiting for Stacy to get out of the car. He went back to his room, only checking once to see if Stacy had followed him. He closed the door behind her and pushed her against the wall. They made out, and she moaned a few times. Billy just rolled his eyes, before pushing her onto the bed.

She groaned and moaned as he trailed kisses down her neck. While he pulled off her shirt, and kissed down to her waistband. He pulled down her skirt. Billy tried and tried, but he still didn't get aroused. He tried to distract Stacy so she wouldn't notice his hesitation.

Billy thought about California, he thought about the last time he'd seen Scott, the first time he'd seen Steve, the way they made him feel. He closed his eyes and groaned. He stood up and put his head back. Stacy screamed out in pain and pleasure, and Billy continued.

He remembered Scott, and he imagined Steve. Finally, he finished. Stacy's heavy breathing tethered him back to reality. "You didn't use a condom," Stacy said, after Billy had collapsed on the bed beside her.

Billy ignored her and put his pants back on. He left his room and got a beer from the fridge, draining it in one drink. He leaned against the counter and sighed. He tossed his can in the trash and got another beer out of the fridge.

Stacy playfully took it out of his hand and popped it open. She smiled and took a sip. Billy took it out of her hand and asked, "My step-sister will be home soon, you need to leave before then."

"Could you give me a ride?" she asked.

Billy shook his head, "Don't wanna be caught drinking and driving."

Stacy pursed her lips and grabbed her coat. "Fine, sure. Bye," she said as she grabbed her bag and slammed the door behind herself.

Billy finished his beer and tossed it in the trash. He lit a cigarette and headed off to his room. He pulled an old shoe box out from underneath his bed. Lifting the lid, he took off the Playboy magazines off the top that he used to deter Max from going through his shit. Underneath were keepsakes from California. There were movie stubs, pictures, notes on scraps on paper, little gifts, and undeveloped film rolls.

Billy held up one of the rolls to the light and smiled at the old memories. There were pictures of his friends, his mom, and Scott. One of the last ones on the roll was a picture Scott took a month before Billy's mom died. They were laying together in the backseat of Billy's Camaro, with smiles devouring their faces, and their eyes squinting to shield from the flash.

Billy felt a tear slide down his cheek, and he quickly wiped it away. Underneath more notes from Scott, was a slip of paper with a number scrawled on it. Billy stared at it, letting the memories of what happened previous to him leaving California.

He tapped his foot and threw his head back. Letting his fears overtake him, he threw the paper back into the box like he had so many times before and covered it up with magazines full of naked women. He shoved the box under his bed and finished his beer.

At the same time Billy was having "love" trouble, Steve was parked outside of Nancy's house. He had his head against the seat and was groaning, building up courage. He sighed and grabs the flowers from the seat beside him. He muttered to himself, rehearsing what to say, only to be interrupted by Dustin running up to him.

"Nancy isn't home," Dustin said.

"Where is she?" Steve asked.

Dustin replied, "Doesn't matter, we have bigger problems than your love life." Dustin got into Steve's car and said, "I'll explain on the way."

"Now?"

"Now!" Dustin replied. Steve ran into the car and they sped off. "To Will's house."

"Nancy's at Will's house?"

"No, Mike's at Will's house, Nancy's at someone's house."

Steve muttered, "She's probably with Jonathan."

"Probably," Dustin replied. Steve glared at him. Dustin said, "What? I'm too young to keep up with you teens." They were in silence for a bit, before Dustin asked, "What'd you do to apologize for?"

Steve sighed, "Nancy said she didn't love, so I'm apologizing."

"Hmm, odd situation. Steve, you're lucky that you have a lady to have problems with. There's a girl named Max that I think is so amazing, but I think she likes Lucas."

Steve raised an eyebrow and said, "How do you know?"

Dustin shrugged, "Gut feeling."

"Well, maybe she's gay, she'd be stupid not to like an adorable kid like you," he said, ruffling Dustin's hair. "There are plenty of gay people in the world."

Dustin furrowed his eyebrows, "Who do you know that's gay? How do you know that there are 'plenty' of gay people in the world?"

Steve shrugged, "Gut feeling."
