Remains of the Day, A Miraculous Tale

Doctor Pain

The next day was like any other, if you could call a villain attacking normal. Click clack went his boots as he ran up besides Ladybug.

"What's the scoop bugaboo." Said the very tired Chat.

"This ones called Doctor Pain, and they are upset because of the Hospital letting people go. I've been watching for a bit, waiting for you to show that is, and it seems like he shoots out two kinds of shots.One paralyzes and one causes symptoms of illnesses to go crazy!" She said, swinging her yoyo around before leaping towards the carnage. He instinctively lept after, using his baton to help him land next to her. The villain turned, and the hawkmoth symbol appeared on their face.

"Hand over your Miraculous, or you'll be checking into intensive care!" They cackled, taking out the syringe gun and firing a few shots at the duo. They lept backwards, skidding to a halt.

"M'lady?" Chat raised an eyebrow, smiling at her with his usual charming feline grin. Ladybug nodded, tossing her yoyo to try and catch the villain. The villain saw the hesitation, and leapt out of the way. He fired a few shots at ladybug, who was still collecting herself. In front of her, a flash of black dashed by. Followed by the object rolling, and landing in its back. Out of his chest, chat had several needles in him. The red liquid drained into his body before the ladybug could pull them all out.

"Idiot! Do you even know what these do?" Chat smirked and shrugged, leaping to his feet. He landed with the utmost ungracefulness, and yet somehow landed on the tips of his boots.

"Puuurrrfect landing M'lady!" He chuckled nervously. Ladybug rolled her eyes, a worried look plastered on her face. The villain laughed, eyes glinting at the two heros.

"FOOLS! I hit h2im with my illness enhancers! They target anything that could possibly do harm and make it 10 times worse! Ahahaha!" Doctor Pain let out a triumphant laugh.

"Hope you didn't have a cold kitty." Ladybug looked worried as the villian started to scale the tower.

"Well I've been feline a bit under the weather lately but it puurrrobobly won't stop me" Chat smiled, leaping up the tower to follow. Ladybug couldn't help but smile as she followed. As the two made it to the top of the tower, Doctor Pain had been waiting. A trap had sprung for the two holders. Stepping on some sort of pressure plate they were entwined with bandaged wraps. They both gasped, being binded to one of the bars.

"Ladybug can you move your arms?" Chat asked, looking down at the akumatized villain, making their way up to them.

"I see the cat and the bug have landed in my trap? How unfortunate. Now, hand over your miraculouses and no one gets, a check up." Chat Noir snorted, and burst out laughing.

"What's so funny?" The akumatized boomed.

"T-that was so lame!" He said in between laughter. Ladybug nudged him

"Oh and your puns are any better?" She rolled her eyes and nodded, letting chat know that their plan was working. Chat was using his cat like claws to slowly rip through each part of the bandages.

"I bet you can't make a doctor pun that will make ladybug laugh." Chat challenged. Ladybug noted his body was growing slightly cooler. Possibly a result from the attack he had taken for her.

"Is that a challenge pussy cat?" Doctor Pain leaned in, almost touching noses with the feline. Chat shifted in his uncomfort, and also to start cutting at ladybug's binds.

"You could s-s-say." He stuttered. The villain stood up.

"I have time for a joke or two.... Being that you two are in a tight situation." Doctor Pain pranced back. Ladybug prepared herself for the soon to come painful bombarding of puns.

"Why did the doctor take on a new patient?" The akumatized said, twirling their syringe gun around. Chat was almost done, she could move her hands in the bind now.

" I don't know, Why?" She sighed. The villain grinned, stepping uncomfortably close again, this time to ladybug.

"Because my dear," They raised their gun, and ladybug froze.

"He wanted to give them a SHOT!" They fired a shot into chat, catching onto their escape plan.

"Chaton!" She shouted as he grew stiff, frozen in place. Doctor Pain knelt down and reached into the bandages, feeling around for his ring. Ladybug quickly reacted, the impulse of protecting her partner kicked in as she did just that. She kicked, sending Doctor Pain flying and the gun crashing to the ground. She immediately ripped through the blinds, being that they were almost free in the first place. She shook the frozen tomcat, and he slowly brought out of it.

"W-wha? Ow my neck, looks l-like we just sparked s-some bad blood between us?" She sighed in relief, but quickly winced at his joke.

"Really?" She said, blank faced as she readied her yoyo. The akumatized reached for the gun, but was caught red handed when ladybug lassoed it with her yoyo.

"Chat now!" She said, looking over to the stumbling feline. She tossed it over before Doctor Pain could jump to grab it.

"C-c-c-catyclysm-" He said, slamming his hand on the gun. It crumbled under his hand, turning to a fine dust. Out flew a purple and black glowing akuma. Ladybug spun, tossing her yoyo in the air to catch the creature.

"Time to de-evilize!" She said, spinning it around. As she came to a stop, her dainty figure tapped the top of the yoyo, and out came a pure white, brilliantly shining moth.

"Bye bye little butterfly." She sighed, putting her yoyo back. She held out her fist with a grin.

"Pound it-" She looked to her side, on the ground, where her partner should have stood, lie a shaking, heaving black mass.

"C-chaton?" Her voice quivered.
