Alexandra's POV
I knew that when I woke up Harry wasn't going to be here. I knew that him even staying the night would be a stretch, considering he's basically on probation now.
I wasn't upset not being able to wake up next to him. I wasn't disapointed either. I expected it. I'm grateful he took his only day off to be with me. I wasn't expecting much when he got here as well. I know we will never be able to do anything normal people do, and I'm okay with that.
When I got downstairs I noticed Viola was holding a piece of paper in the kitchen.
"What's that?" I asked.
She shook her head. "Harry, he said he'll call at seven." I grabbed the paper from her hands and stared wide-eyed at it, memorizing his hand writing.
"I don't understand why you are wasting your time with him. We are leaving soon." The tone in her voice harshly shifts.
"Why are you acting like this?" I ask. "Since you got here you've been nothing but rude and in a rush."
"Because I'm being logical. I don't want to get attatched to him, or anything else. We are about to go over seas Alex, we don't have time for a three week long romance." She sits in the chair and barries her head in her arms on the table. "I just want to get out of here." She finally admits.
I don't understand why she would. She wasn't being forced into something she didn't want to do. SHe was't the one everyone hated. She had a perfectly fine life here..
"We are leaving. I promise we still are." I put my arm around her for her comfort.
She's really grown up since the last time I've seen her. Not just physically, but emotionally and mentally too. It's like she became this whole other person. Her mind completely changed.
"But what about him? I know you like him, don't play stupid. You really like him, don't you?" Her tone turns into a harsh object I can't dodge.
I can't say anything. What does she want me to say? 'Yeah Viola, I'm going to ruin our future over some boy.' I know that's what she's expecting, but I can't do it to her. I can't ruin everything because of a coincidence.
I can feel her eyes glaring at me. Making me shrivel down inside. She's younger and she has this power over me right now. I don't understand it.
All I could do was nod and not make eye contact.
"So you do then." She says. "Well, I'm going to Massachusetts, with or without you. I don't need the money you saved up either. I stole a lot from Mum and Dad."
"Are you kidding?" I look up at her. "Do you know how much trouble you're going to get into. You're fucking fourteen and you stole enough money to buy a plane ticket to America?"
This time her gaze is the one that breaks.
"I didn't know if we'd make it far enough to where the rest of our family is. It was an emergency sort of thing. We have to be prepared for anything, Alex."
I shake my head, trying to comprehend what she is talking about. The plan was to make it. We didn't need extra money, we didn't need the extra boost. We were going to make it, safe and sound.
I scoff in disbelief and go up to the master bedroom. I put my few clothes in my bag, then go to Viola's room and pack her clothes in the bag she brought along. I throw the clothes in the bag carelessly, and run down stairs.
I angrily throw the bag at her, hoping she would let it hit her.
"What the fuck?" The bag was thrown harder than I thought. "What is this?" She says while rubbing her chest.
