Paul's POV

I woke up in a bright white room and found myself on a bed. I groaned as my head throbbed. What happened? And where am I..?

An image of familiar midnight blue fur flashed in my mind and my eyes widened.

"Dawn."

I shot straight up and looked around the room, quickly noticing the bright blue plainly standing out amongst the white. A girl sat in a lazy position, slouched in a chair with her legs crossed and propped on a nearby desk. She appeared to be scrolling through a PokeDex and I immediately knew she was a Trainer.

I growled loudly and drew her attention to me. The girl grinned.

"Yo! You're up!" She tucked the PokeDex into her pocket, stretched, and made her way to me.

I reached to scratch at her but she didn't flinch and smiled.

"Aah, they kept me here to wait for you to wake up. I'm glad I can leave now, but lemme introduce myself," She jabbed a thumb at herself. "I'm Crystalieh Lumiere! But just call me Crystal!"

I snarled her anyway and barked, "Why am I here?"

"Chill your purple tuffs, Paul. And as for that other question, Dawn brought you here. She said she knocked you out and dragged your furry behind to the professor to heal you up," Crystal explained as she let out a yawn.

My eyes widened. "D-Dawn...? W-Wait, how did you know my name? And how did you understand what I asked?!"

Crystal smirked. "I'm special."

My shock faded and was soon replaced by annoyance. "No, really?"

Crystal 'tched' before shrugging. "Got hit by a car."

I raised a questioning brow at her. She was a very unusual Trainer, but at least she wasn't as bad as the others.

"So anyways, the Professor healed you up and you've been asleep for the past..." She checked the clock on the wall. "Six hours."

Crystal yawned again. "Well I'm gonna go hit the hay. Since you're technically a wild pokemon, I shouldn't really be letting you roam around and stuff, but if Dawn can trust you with her life, then I can trust you won't go on a wild rampage and break things."

"How do you know Dawn?" I asked.

She smiled. "She's my friend." Then she pointed at another bed closer to the wall. I turned my head to see what she was pointing at and my eyes met midnight blue.

"I'm also here to watch over her, but since you finally woke up and she doesn't want to leave your side, I'll leave her in your hands- or, uh, paws... I guess," Crystal scratched the back of her neck sheepishly. "Well anyways, take good care of her," And suddenly she was in my face with an accusing finger. "And if I hear you've hurt her, I swear, imma..." She trailed off but cracked her knuckles loudly and gave me a death glare.

I sighed, unfazed. "I won't hurt her." Then I glanced at Dawn's sleeping form. She was sprawled out on the mattress and her tail kept flopping around occasionally. "And besides, she's too precious for that thought to have even crossed my mind," I whispered softly.

Crystal chuckled and I felt my cheeks heat up, knowing she heard me. She pat my head and said, "Take good care of her, lover boy." And with that, she walked out of the room and turned of the lights.

The only source of light now was the one from the moon streaming through the window's blinds. I looked over at Dawn who was directly under that moonlight, her fur glowing. I stood up and walked to her bed and sat on the edge. Her face was calm relaxed and she was snoring lightly. I smiled and curled up beside her. I stroked her soft fur and breathed in her scent, burning it into my head, before closing my eyes and drifting of into a sweet sleep with one thought.

"I missed you... Dawn..."

Dawn's POV

It was warm and comfortable but my limbs ached with stiffness and I felt the need to stretch. I extended my legs a bit and felt something draped around my abdomen. I pawed at it and heard a loud groan of annoyance. My eyes shot open and immediately took in the bright sunlight. I held my paws to my temporarily blinded eyes.

"Gah-! I can see!" I shrieked and twisted around, soon falling off the bed with a loud thump.

I groaned at the impact and peeked one eye open to see something on the bed. A head looked over the edge, the expression on his face was tired.

"The heck's wrong with you...?" He muttered.

My eyes went wide. "P-Paul..?"

He moved back onto the bed and only hummed in response.

I jumped up onto the bed and landed hard on his stomach. He flinched and coughed, his drowsiness immediately leaving him.

"Paauull!! You're okay now, right? Right?" I asked hurriedly.

Paul groaned. "Not anymore..."

I 'eeped' and quickly got off him. "Sorry," I said sheepishly.

He got up and looked at me with a small smile. "It's nice to see you again, Dawn."

I felt tears prick my eyes and I lunged at Paul, wrapping my paws around his neck and giving him the best I could manage as a hug.

"Dang it, Paul, where were you," I cried into his neck. "I looked everywhere for you!"

I felt his arms wrap around me and he sighed. "And I was looking for you. At least we finally found each other."

He let go and wiped my fears for me, a soft smile still playing his lips.

"So you've evolved into a Delcatty, huh?" Paul asked.

I nodded and smiled. "Yeah, my Trainer found a moon stone for me."

"That girl with bright blue hair?"

I nodded again.

"She's weird," Paul stated bluntly.

I laughed. "That's a little straight forward, isn't it nya?"

Paul smirked. "Haven't heard that in awhile."

I stuck my tongue out at him. "Yeah, yeah."

Then I realized something. "You haven't met the others yet, have you?"

He gave me a questioning look. "Others?"

I nodded excitedly. "Yeah, yeah! My friends and Crystal's other pokemon! Come on, come on!" I jumped out of the bed and ran out the open door.

"Wait!" I heard Paul call. "You know I'm not good with others-!"

Boom. Took a while, but I updated.

P.S. Thanks for 2k, too, guys!
