Dawn's POV

It's been two months... Or three? Time has been passing by in a flash, but I never kept count anyways. I've been training myself now. Training myself to get stronger and protect others. Mom was captured trying to protect me and I couldn't do anything. I want to get stronger and be able to defend myself and others. I don't want to lose anyone anymore.

I made a new home in the hole that I found a few months back. The berry tree that grew the hole was a good source of food. The Oran berries that grew on it also gave me energy after training, so that was helpful. I put some moss that I found on the inside of the hole for something comfortable to sleep/sit on.

I pushed my way through the bushes to get to my little hollow. I just finished up my daily training session in a field nearby. I bit some berries off of the tree on the way to the hole. I trained myself until I felt like a was going to faint. I crawled into the hollow and ate the berries. Soon I got tired and fell asleep. The emptiness and quietness became normal and somewhat comfortable to me. That just shows how long I've been alone.

I woke up with a start. I could feel sweat trickle through my fur. Looks like I had another nightmare again. I looked out of the entrance to the hollow and saw a dark sky. There weren't any stars tonight. I silently crawled out of the hole and sat down in front of my tree. I closed my eyes as I felt a breeze brush my face. The ripped, dirty scarf around my neck floated a little bit. I sighed. It was a beautiful refreshing night. Wild Kricketot and Kricketune played calm tunes while Illumise and Volebeat danced with their lights to the music. The peacefulness would've lasted longer but the pokemon stopped abruptly, leaving behind a deathly and nerve wrecking silence. I opened my eyes and stood up, shuffling my feet uncomfortably because of the silence. After the calm music had stop, all you could hear was the wind ruffling the leaves on the trees and bushes and making a hypnotic wavy pattern in the grass.

I took one step back towards my hollow when I heard rustling coming from a nearby bush. I jumped in surprise but quickly regained my position as I stared at the bush that the noise came from. I started readying a Thunderbolt as bolts of electricity ran through my fur.

Rustle.

There's another one. I saw a paw step through the bush. Just as I was about to unleash the powerful attack, a pokemon fell through the bushes. It was a male Zorua. I recognized it because I had seen a passing pack once with my mother a few months back. Zorua and Zoroark live miles upon miles away from here. What would one be doing over here?

I ceased my attack and cautiously walked towards the fallen pokemon. When I was a yard away from him, I noticed that he fainted. I decided to take the chance and get closer. I examined him to find how and/or why he fainted. The Zorua has strange purple fur, but who am I to talk? I have midnight blue fur when Skitty are supposed to have pink. I checked his fur and found some cuts. They weren't just any cuts though, they were Poison Sting attacks. Most likely from Beedrill. There are a lot of hives of them that live in this area. I also found some bruises and he looked hungry.

I gently dragged him into my hollow and laid him on the soft moss. I quickly ran out of the hole and to the Oran berry tree. I grabbed a few berries before running back to the hole and to the side of the Zorua. I squeezed a few berries into his mouth and he swallowed it down.

I looked over his cuts again.

Pecha berries.

Pecha berries cure poison. I remembered seeing a Pecha berry tree somewhere near here from training. It was about a five minute walk there and five minute walk back. I should hurry. I walked out of the hole and looked at the sky. The moon was just near the horizon. Dawn was coming soon. I quickly rushed off in the direction of the Pecha berry tree.

Paul's POV

I woke up feeling sore and in pain. I couldn't move but I looked over my body and saw the Poison Sting cuts through my purple fur. Ughh... Stupid Beedrill. I woke up from a nap and found Beedrill starting to surround me. I started running from them for what seemed like forever. I kept falling and tripping pretty badly too.

I looked around at my surroundings and found myself in a hollow. The hole was surrounded by dirt walls but there was wood on the ceiling. I was probably under a tree. I was laying on some moss and saw a few Oran berries near my face. I stared at them and suddenly realized how hungry I was. I didn't eat them though because I couldn't just eat some berries that were randomly in front of me.

I don't know how I got here. First I was walking tiredly through some bushes and I felt myself faint. Now I'm here in a random hole.

I tried to get up but I couldn't move. Even if I tried to move a single muscle I would feel a rush of pain and flop back to the ground.

I groaned. The poison from Poison Sting was probably taking effect now. It must've been a really powerful Poison Sting to have me not be able to move. Like a painful sort of paralysis.

I suddenly heard a few pawsteps come from the entrance of the hole. I tried to get up but count the move and pain coursed through my body and forced me back down. I saw a small beige paw step through the entrance and then revealed a female Skitty. She wasn't just any normal Skitty though, she had midnight blue fur. A normal Skitty had pink fur, not blue. She also wore a white hat and pink scarf. Both looked old and both were ripped. She walked beside me and set down some berries that she had in her mouth on her ground. She then looked at me straight in the eye (I couldn't because I couldn't see her eyes) and noticed that I was awake.

"Oh! You're awake now! Here, eat this," She picked a berry up by the leaf in her mouth and held it close to mine. I looked at it and noticed that it was a Pecha berry. They help cure poison.

Deciding not to argue (not that I could anyways) I opened my mouth as wide as I could and she dropped the Pecha berry into my mouth. I chewed although it took some effort and swallowed. I suddenly started to feel a little better, as though the poison was slipping away from my body.

"Now here," The Skitty said as she held an Oran berry towards my mouth. Oran berries can give energy back to a pokemon. I opened my mouth and ate the berry much easier.

I tried to move again and I was slowly able to sit up. I looked at the Skitty and she seemed relived.

"Where am I?" I managed.

"My home, or... I guess my temporary home. I moved here a few months ago and just stayed," She explained.

"How did I get here?"

"I saw you faint while coming through the bushes. I saw that you were attacked by Poison Sting and brought you inside. I'm taking care of you the best that I can. All you need now is rest, so you can stay here for as long as you want," She said.

"Thanks," I muttered.

She smiled a small smile. "No problem. Now I'm gonna get some sleep. It was around midnight when I found you so I didn't get much sleep."

With that she crawled beside me and laid down, her back facing me. She started to relax and stopped moving a lot, only having her chest rise and fall.

"The name's Paul by the way," I muttered as I laid my head on the floor, deciding to get some sleep too.

She picked her head up and looked at me, smiling. "I'm Dawn."
