(All Alison POV)
Could school get more stressful? We have two weeks till Christmas break so that means finals week is next week and teacher a cramming every piece of knowledge into our heads that they can.
I'm in English right now we have sub teaching us till after Christmas break. I hate trying to remember things when it's so hard to remember everything from every class.
"Alright class so remember nouns are person, place or thing. Verbs go with the nouns" god I feel like I'm in elementary school.
Right in the middle of the lecture that was taking forever paused with a knock on the door, The principal opened the door an walked in with a boy.
"So sorry to bother your class mr. Hamilton but I have a new student for you" mr. Hamilton nodded "wonderful, we will take care of him" principal nodded and walked out.
The boy stood their looking so scared I felt bad for him. His hair does over his ears so you can't see them. "So son what's your name?" He handed mr. Hamilton a note he nodded and pointed to the seat next to me. "Class this is Caleb Breaker, he's obviously new and Alison could you show him around and help him" I nodded.
Soon a note was on my desk. I saw the teacher knew about the note but didn't seem to mind. Let's see if we can find out why...
(The note)
C- Hi
A- Hello :)
C- how are you?
A- I'm good how are you?
C- nervous
A- don't be! I know it's hard starting a new school but you'll be fine!
C- I know that's what my mom told me...im just afraid
A- afraid of what?
C- can I trust you? If I tell you something you won't make fun of me
A- yes and no I won't.
C- I'm deaf and I have earring aids in that like half work.
A- oh that explains why you gave the note to the teacher.
C- yeah...it told him I was deaf and he seems fine with it. At least I can half hear.
A- yeah no worries whatever you don't hear I'll tell you. Can I see you classes schedule?
C- yeah I was told we have the same classes...you can check to make sure though.
A- okay :) I'm sure you wanted to or already are Lol. You wanna be friends? I know my other friends would like you!
C- for real? Heck yeah!! I would love to be your all's friend!!
A-yay yay!! I'll give you my number later so we can text and stuff! We also have a group chat you can join!
C- Okay!!
(End note)
After class it was study hall thankfully we all have that together. As Caleb and I walk in the library I see Courtney, Megan and Ian. Ella is sick with the flu and Kristen is gone for the weekend to her grandparents.
"Hey Ali who's the guy?" Megan questioned "guys this is Caleb he's new here" Ian stood up with his fist out for a fist bump which Caleb did back. We all sat down and started talking with Caleb obviously being quiet.
Megan nudged me "why isn't he talking" "oh I didn't tell you guys yet did I" "tells us what?" Courtney ask nervously "Caleb's deaf he can only hear about half of what we're saying"
They all three looked so sad "oh my poor guy, but luckily for him he has us now!" Megan encamped "Caleb?" Caleb looked at me "you are now our friend officially"
"really?" He signed i nodded I can understand a little sign language so I knew what he said then he hugged us all one by one.
I love making new friends!
Omg Ali and the gang have a new friend!! So exciting!!
