"There ain't no me if there ain't no you"- Dean Winchester

Imagine you only have one person left. It could be anyone; a friend, grandfather, child, or your only brother in Dean's case. Now, imagine that person got really sick or hurt. The road to recovery would be a hard and long one, but there was a little glimmer of light at the end of the tunnel. The person grows tired of fighting, and decides it's their time to go. They just don't see the light anymore. It would be like wearing a pair of sunglasses at night. You know there is something right in front of you, but you just don't see it, therefore you can't reach it. No matter how much you try to convince them, they just can't see. They're wearing the metaphorical sunglasses, even if they don't realize it. Then, even though it will be hard for you, you have to get rid of the sunglasses. Rip them off their face if you have to. Talk to them. Let them know they are still loved. Let them know that life is worth living. Let them know that they can be saved. They might not realize it at first, but eventually they'll wonder,

"What's it like without the sunglasses?"

They might just take a little peek underneath, but they'll still see the beauty of a world without darkness. They'll see the light, even just for a moment. Eventually, the sunglasses will come off. They'll see the world in it's true light. And it's because of you. You would be the one to tell them about life without sunglasses. Tell them of the hope and the love and the beauty that this world has for them. It will be disheartening at first. They might try to push you away or convince themselves that you're lying to them. With time, they will think about your words. They will realize that you just see the world with a different lens. Since you have told them about your lens, they will take theirs off for a moment, and see the world in a different light.

If I'm saying anything, I'm saying this:

Don't give up on people, even if they give up on themselves.
