scott's pov.

[music playing]

i was busy fixing my lacrosse stick, i had my music playing as i was doing so because music helps everybody concentrate. right?

i took the ball and tested my stick, making sure the ball wouldn't penetrate a hole into the net, luckily it didn't. i got up from my chair and did some lifts.

[loud creak]

i grabbed a bat and took slow steps walking outside on to my porch looking around.

"AGH!"

"AAH!"

"OOH! OOH! STILES, WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU DOING!" i yelled as he hung from my roof.

"YOU WEREN'T ANSWERING YOUR PHONE & WHY DO YOU HAVE A BAT?"

"i thought you were a predator." i said.

"a pre-" he coughs.

"look, i know it's late, but you gotta hear this. i saw my dad leave 20 minutes ago, dispatch called. they're bringing in every officer from the beacon and mystic department, and even state police." he replied.

"for what?"

"two joggers found a body in the woods." he said.

"a dead body?" i was shocked.

"no, a body of water. yes dumbass, a dead body." he climbed onto my porch.

"you mean like murdered?"

"nobody knows yet, probably in her 20s."

"hold on, if they found the body, then what are they looking for?" i asked.

"that's the best part. they only found half, we're going." he said looking down then facing me with a smirk.

"we're seriously doing this?" i questioned.

"you're the one always bitching that nothing ever happens in this town." stiles slapped my shoulder and walked away holding the flashlight.

"i was trying to get a good night's sleep before practice tomorrow."

"right, 'cause sitting on the bench is such a grueling effort." he said, walking ahead of me.

"no, because i'm playing this year. in fact, i'm making first line." i stated.

"hey, that's the spirit. everyone should have a dream, even a pathetically unrealistic one." stiles said continuing to walk ahead of me.

"just out of curiosity, which half of the body are we looking for?" i asked.

"huh!" stiles stopped for a second, then continued walking.
