{Sage's POV}

I stare at my reflection in the mirror as I pin the final bobby pins into my bun atop my head. Frowning, I reach for the hairspray and start ruining the ozone layer. Once all of the frizz is gone I feel like I can breathe again.

Then I remember what to today is. The first day of audition week for the National Academy of Dance in Sydney. My dad paid for our tickets the second he found out about me getting an audition. We live in Las Vegas, but that wasn't the type of dancing I enjoyed. Ballet was my passion.

"Sage Marie Evans come out of that bathroom right now or you will be late!" My dad calls from behind the door. My father owns a very successful dance/night club at the Las Vegas Strip, but he always had time for me.

"Shit dad do you think my hair just magically turns out like this?" I fake an annoyed look as I open the door and he just chuckles.

Before I knew it I was getting out of our rental car and heading toward the large entrance.

Sighing heavily I push open the doors and head towards the stairs to find where I will be 'living' for the week. I weave in and out of many groups of teenagers hugging and even a few couples kissing by the stairs. I never understood relationships, they just got in the way of ballet.

Finally finding my room I heave the door open, only to find people making out on one of the too beds.

"Ehem" I clear my throat and they both immediately pull away and stare at me. The girl plasters a genuine smile on he face and quickly stands up (right after adjusting her top from her previous actions)

"Hi! Oh my god you must be Sage! My name is Poppy James I'm going to be your roommate for audition week!" I shake her hand before glancing towards the boy still sitting on her bed.

"I'm Ashton. I'm not a ballet boy obviously. I'm in a band. We're punk rock!" The boy, Ashton smirks also shaking my hand.

"Please Ash your band is not punk rock!" Poppy chuckles and Ashton fakes hurt. "Ashton's dad is the principle here so he is kind of just always around." She says now to me and I just slowly nod.

"And her lovely boyfriend!" Ashton chimes in and I get the sudden urge to roll my eyes.

I hate couples. They are distracting. I came here to focus on ballet not to get sucked into this crap. I wonder if it's to late to change rooms.

"So bunhead, do you talk?" Ashton looks over at me and I just shoot him a confused glare.

"What the hell is a bunhead?" I ask and both of them raise their eyebrows at me. Oh god what now.

"Ah she's American! Where from exactly?" Ashton seems very persistent with these questions.

"I'm from Nevada, Las Vegas to be precise." I smile fondly thinking of back home. "I'd love to stay and chat more about my home but if we don't leave now we will be late!" I point to the clock and Poppy hops up, kisses Ashton and heads towards the door with me.

"See you soon bunhead!" Ashton exclaims as we rush out the door.

After a few grueling and tortuous hours we are done with the first day of auditions. I pull my hair out of my bun and instantly fall asleep on my bed.

The rest of audition week goes in this fashion and I'm already feeling somewhat trapped. So after our last class on Friday I rush to my room to put on my swimsuit and a cover up.

Ruffling my hair as it falls past my breasts I grab a towel, my phone, and room keys to head off in search of a beach of some sort.

Finding one in a short distance I lay my towel down and sluggishly peel off my sundress. The second it's up over my head I lock eyes with a blonde boy a few yards away.

His beautiful blue irises feel like they are starring into my soul. He tugs his lip ring into his lips and my eyes flash down towards it. I quickly look towards the water once I see a smirk on them.

I lay on the towel for a few hours just to relax. Letting my mind wander to if I will get a spot at the Academy or not. Finally felling ready to go I stand up to pull my sundress over my head.

As I'm folding up my towel I see the blonde boy staring one again. He waves and I blush before turning and walking back to the sidewalk towards the dorms.

I looked behind me and see him still staring. I quickly whip my head around and walk faster. Damn if all Australian boys all look like him I may have to stop being so strict about boys.

A/N: Okay so I know this probably sucks and I apologize but I'm not to good at this whole writing thing so bear with me. So in case you didn't notice the dance place she is at is from a TV show called Dance Academy. I'm not sure if it's a real place but using your imagination isn't that hard so just pretend it is real okay? The whole area around the dance place is exactly like it so just picture that. And this particular part is kind of based of the show too. If you haven't seen the show, I recommend just watching like one episode. It will give you the main idea.

I'm really sorry if this is boring but I just wanted to establish some type of background before she met Luke and all.
