I smiled at Dianna softly as I chewed, listening. She finished the food and sat by me, eating and talking. About her family. Her older brothers name was Joel, he was 23, and married to a girl named Katherine. Her younger brother name was JADE, he was 14. She smiled and her mood got happier as she told me about her grandma and grandpa. She obviously cared for them. I smiled. I asked about her parents. I shouldn't have.

Her face fell kinda, she looked down. I knew I hit a soft spot. After she finished chewing and took a drink she started the story. A few months ago, a few days after she joined black veil brides, something happened.

I didn't tell them right away, my older brother knew...but...I waited. I invited them to a dinner so I could tell everyone at once. I picked up JADE after school and mom and dad were supposed to come after work. I remember sitting in the restaurant with Jade talking to him and smiling.

I.....I remember, I remember it being about a half hour after, Joel and Katherine just got there, his phone rang. He walked outside to answer it..' She got a little quiet and her voice kinda shook. I felt my face soften. She looked vulnerable. I didn't like it.

When he didn't come back in after a few minutes Katherine went out to check on him....They came in a little later. Joel's face was red. He had been crying. He didn't cry much...Katherine took Jade out and Joel hugged me and told me the words I'll never forget.' At this point I was done chewing. I wasn't hungry. I just leaned forward, watching her, my hand across the table on hers. She was looking down. I didn't notice before but she had her signature glasses on again.

Dad is dead, Moms in surgery, what he said, they meet an accident while they were on the way, it was about 6 at night. A drunk driver, hits into the car at a stop sign, dads seat-belt gave out for some reason, He flew out the window onto the pavement... died on impact. Moms seat-belt was fine, had some internal bleeding and a broken arm, some shards of glass in her. She had some brain damage...Now she's...better I guess. It's like an early set of Alzheimer's. Sometimes she's ok. She remembers everything. Who we are, what happened. Other times she's somewhere else.....' She looked down the rest of the way as she finished the story. I found myself near tears. It wasn't fair...She was so special. How could something like that have happened to such a nice family. She loved them. They obviously love her.

I didn't get to tell them that I made it big signed with a band and we were going to start recording. Mom may not remember and usually doesn't when I tell her now....' She let out a small sniffle, but she wasn't crying. I've seen no tears. But she sounded broken. I stood and walked to her crawling in her lap. I wrapped my arms around her neck and gently kissed her cheek. I laid my head on her shoulder and just sat there with her for a little bit until her breathing returned to normal again. I sat up straight on her and softly pulled off her glasses. She closed her eyes.

Why do you wear your glasses all the time? You didn't used to in high school..' I said. She did a small shrug. 'Tell me..' I said, as I kissed her cheek.

I got tired of hearing that I had my fathers eyes' She said, I nodded softly as she opened her pretty puppy dog brown eyes. I kissed her lips then her nose softly. She smiled softly, I kissed her again on each cheek till she fully smiled. We walked to watch TV. After a few hours passed of smiling, laughing, and watching tv, She spoke.

My brother's birthday is in a few weeks. You wanna wait till then and just meet the whole family at once?..' She said. I nodded, smiling.

'Sounds good' I said. She laughed kinda and kissed my cheek.

'I love you' I said. Then I tensed my body as she looked at me quietly. Omg., i just said that out loud
