There once was a time where life met as one, nothing could tear apart that special bond. Until life fell back down to reality and tore that bond, One. By. One.

---

Days like this is the best for all. The outside sun gleaming in its sun kissed beauty, and soft white blankets of snow peacefully covering the spirited New York City. But no day was a day for me.

I tightened the belt holding my pants, picked up the brief case and walked out of the cold apartment. My steps echoed the halls, until halted to a stop by a ping of the elevator. A last glimpse of the deserted hall was my sight every morning, of every day, of every year.

'Good Morning Sir.' My butler stood hand outstretched, ready for my briefcase.

'Good Morning Smith.' He placed the briefcase into the awaiting car, then later opening my door.

Everybody raced in crowds towards nearby shopping malls, and work retails. Some carrying briefcases or children. Others travelled to their destinations by taxi or public transport.

I anxiously looked down at the small clock hands moving with every second. It was five to nine, and I needed to be at the office now.

'Mam, speed up I'm on a tight schedule.' I clenched my jaw, readjusting my black satin tie. Staring ahead I could visibly see the growing tension between the front and back of the car. The woman flicked her long brown hair behind her shoulder, and spun angrily around in the driver's seat. Where the most stunning hazel eyes met with mine.

'I'm sorry sir, but if you would actually use your eyes for a real purpose. I can't move any faster than the freaking traffic!' Anger slowly started to boil within me, my fists bundled into tight balls. The completely rude driver dared to glare at me for another second before turning back to the traffic. She is definitely going to learn to not be rude to a person of such power.

'Miss how dare you speak to me like that. Prepare to get a dismissal letter from your boss next pay. You obviously don't use your eyes to take a look at who I am.' My threat was pretty clear to show I wasn't joking.

'Oh I'm sorry, no I don't know who you are. I didn't mean to make the big guy angry. I was just trying to politely say that I. Don't. Care.' The sarcasm slithered throughout her every word, stabbing my pissed mood with her every breath. It was safer to stay quiet for the rest of the journey so I didn't punch every person square in the jaw, once I arrived at the company. It was as if the woman and I thought the same thing as a word was not spoken the rest of the way.

The companies large glassed walls mirrored the surrounding skyscrapers around it. My door was opened, and just after was a sigh of relief from my petty driver. The company of my assistant was far too close for liking, as my workers tensely watched my every movement.

'Here take this and leave, I need it and a coffee at my office in ten.' Michelle hurried off with the brief case, providing the personal space I longed for since I arrived. Immediately I assumed that all the stares prolonged due to the fact, that I had arrived back to the company after six months. But the same with my assistant, I hated the unwanted attention.

As I arrived in my unusually large office, I took notice of how untouched I left it. The mahogany wood desk filled the centre of the room. Each step towards the desk reminded me of memories I wish were burdened. However, my trance was quickly broken by the quiet knocking against the door.

'Yes Michelle bring it in.' She hurried inside holding the brief case under her arm, a large coffee in her right hand and a plated cinnamon scroll in the other.

'Here's your breakfast sir, and that brief case you needed.' She placed everything on the desk, Opening the case to reveal the bundles of paper I need to sign.

'Thank you, your dismissed for now.' Michelle anxiously headed for the door, then hesitated in the door way.

'What is it Michelle?' She stepped back into the room towards me.

'There's someone to see you, but it's a complaint about the company.' I sighed in response. I hated how certain people choose to hate on my hard work. It always ended in security escorting their ignorant minds out of the building.

'Bring them in.' I ordered, but before Michelle could open the door. My opposing other did it themselves. Immediately I stood from my chair in rage at the disrespect, ready to pound every part of it into them.

But that's when the beautiful hazel eyes met with mine once again.

'What the hell are you doing here?!' The woman's expression said it all.

'I'm the CEO obviously.' I folded my arms, Michelle stepped back in shock, covering her mouth. The stern look I gave, almost made her run out of the room.

'Oh then, this makes the complaint one hundred times more rewarding.' She chuckled.

'On with it then, my name is Mr Taylor. And yours?'

'My name is Amelia Allen.' Her voice perfectly swayed in synch with her luscious brown locks.
