Bigby sat in his chair staring at the clock for hours, he remembered Crane had asked him to follow up on a case of... well he couldn't even remember what it was, oh right the glamor thing, at the trip trap was it?

Anyways Bigby made it clear he was not budging, not until he knew Irina was safe. He still felt obligated to her, the need to protect her never faded and this “Mr. C” fellow just might be the one he needed to protect her from.

It's been hours since she kicked him out that morning, it was around 4:30pm and he was still sitting in his chair waiting for 8 o'clock to arrive. That's when his phone started to ring, and seeing as the only people that ever call his phone is toad or the business office he was hesitant on answering it, he was not about to go all the way in town for toad's delusions again.

But then again what if its Snow? 'What if she needs me?' Bigby thought to himself, going against his better judgment he answered the phone and to his relief it was in fact Snow White.

“Hello Bigby” She said, her tone was soft and light as usual, which is something he was quite fond of.

“Snow... Is everything alright?” Bigby asked concerned, usually she would call a week later after he was given a case, it wasn't something to complete in one night.

“Um Yes Of course” Snow White sounded unsure which only made Bigby feel uneasy “I uh- Well...I don't know” Snow White remained quiet on the phone for a moment, or lost in thought, that was until Bigby's nerves were in a wreck, something was going on in the office and Bigby needed to know what it was, his worst fear would

“I'll be right there” He said quickly hanging up the phone, Snow usually was never at a loss for words, not like this, she seemed uncomfortable which in turn caused Bigby to feel tense. He wasted no time waiting for the elevator as he rushed down the stairs, all in effort of getting there faster.

The moment the Wolf reached the door, he decided barging in wasn't the way to go about it so he tapped lightly waiting for a response, when none came he tried opening the door only to find it locked, 'Snow was never one to lock the doors' He thought to himself, in panic he grasped the door handle tightly, breaking it. He walked in the office only to hear nothing but silence and flapping?

“Snow” Bigby spoke loudly yet no response yet again

THUD! Bigby quickly rushed to the source of the noise only to be relieved by Snow White's voice

“Careful Bufkin!” He heard her say scolding the flying monkey in the office.

“SNOW” Bigby spoke louder, his voice echoing through the large office

“Bigby I'm over here” With his 'wolfy' senses, he heard her voice in the back of the office, where the books on fables were stored. Bigby made his way to where Snow White was standing, he noticed one of the books carelessly placed at Snows feet, that's probably what the noise was, Bufkin probably dropped the book.

“What's going on here?” He asked noticing Snow waiting impatiently for Bufkin to return with whatever it was she had him looking for.

“Something's missing Bigby” Snow said gravely, her gaze not once moved from the Bufkin who was flying around the shelves of books

“Crane” Bigby added sarcastically, how can the deputy mayor be gone all the time.

“Well yes that, but a book as well”

“What book are we talking about? A book with information on fables” He asked first but received no reply, she looked deep in thought and nervous.

“It's just a book Snow” Bigby's voice was calm and empathetic

“Its not just that Bigby, that was the only book with all the fables, the first?”
