Chapter 2 ~ Nerd

Kaelen's POV

I walk down the halls of school. Today's the first day back to school. I just wore white jeans and a black and white aztec flowy tank.

Anyway, I head to my first class, science. I took a seat in the second to last seat in the left corner. Beside my friend Tristan. A few minutes before class started a guy sat in the empty seat behind me.

"Eww, some nerd is sitting behind you", Tristan informs. The guy obviously heard, keeping his head down.

"C'mon don't." I defend. "Whatever. I don't know how you're always so nice to everyone, geez."

Tristan responded.

Classes pass by. It being the first day of school, they just talk about rules, procedures, responsibility, and stupid childish shit we don't really need to have repeated over and over. It's finally lunch.

My group of friends invited me over but I decided to sit by the boy from science class. He's actually in a lot of my classes. He was sitting alone looking pretty down. I don't care if that changes my title in school.

Shawn's POV

I sat alone at lunch, sure I had some friends, but I felt distant today. I've been bullied lately and pussed people out of my life. I'm just alone.

Kaelen Avery actually defended me today, surprisingly. I don't think she's as snotty as people say she is. But then again, I've heard rumors that she's a slut and nothing but a pretty face.

I shouldn't become attached to her. I'm just a nerd that no one cares about.

Just as I shook her off my mind, she sat her tray down next to mine. "Um..hey?" I say shyly and confused.

"Oh gosh, I'm not stalking you, I just felt really bad about what my friend said this morning", she explains.

"Oh no, it's fine. My name is Shawn",

"I'm Kaelen", she smiles.

"I know, the whole school knows you",

"yeah..that one girl everyone knows..."

Kaelens POV

I had a pretty nice conversation with Shawn. He didn't seem like the type of person to use me for my title. He's the most real person I've ever met. Just the part when he said the whole school knew me, I just hope he likes me as a friend too and doesn't judge me from my rumors.
