Trailer-makers aren't that common, but they're incredibly talented! Imagine manipulating images, which is what we as designers do. Well, these people manage to manipulate images... multiplied by the hundreds because of all the shots and scenes! If you're looking for something that will really elevate the status of your book, a trailer is definitely the way to go.
There'll be no limits on the amount of time spent watching your trailer, and it follows that there's no limit of minutes or seconds that you can have. However, please note that you're not making a movie, as entertaining as that sounds! A trailer shouldn't be too long, and if you need a definite guideline, 2.5 minutes or less is best.
