"Everett!, Everett right here""Everett look this way!"
Ever rolled his eyes at the sound of his full name coming out of the paparazzi's mouths.
Nevertheless, he shoved his hands into the pockets of his tailor made Georgio Armani suit and struck a pose, plastering his biggest smile to the slimy photographers.Tonight was the biggest night of his parent's careers,
the movie premiere of their number one Hollywood film "The Shadows," featuring the one and only Patricia and Richard Adams.Since before Ever could speak a sentence, his entire life was encapsulated in flashing lights and magazine covers.
His first steps weren't documented on a simple VCR tape, but rather a video spread around the globe because "Patricia Adam's son took his first steps."If he wanted to buy himself something nice, the media declared him stingy. If he wanted to shop at the local department store, he was declared "lacking in style."
It took everything in Ever to not grab the keys to his dad's private jet and fly to the moon.
Still, he walked the red carpet with a blinding smile as elite models winked his way.
He knew they didn't want him, they wanted his fame.
However, one couldn't help but agree that Ever Adams was definitely blessed in the genetics apartment. He inherited his father's sharp jaw, his mother's brown eyes, and their fast metabolism that allowed him to eat the most fattening meals and still have his glistening muscles plastered on numerous covers of Vogue.
Ever didn't want to follow in his parent's footsteps, but every time he mentioned the simple thought of music, his parent's shut it down immediately.
"Ever, you already have a name for yourself in the acting industry, don't fall off the ladder now"
Or his personal favorite,
"Ever, no way in hell are you going to throw your life away aspiring to be some kind of Cyrus. she made her name and peed all over it like a dog! we absolutely do not want that for you"
Of course Ever tried to explain that he certainly was NOT Miley Cyrus, but nevertheless his parent's shut it down quicker than they shut down the paps.
"Ever darling, come take a seat with us! I was telling Amelia all about your new movie coming out in the spring!"
He glanced at Hollywood sweetheart Amelia Edwards and her Victoria's Secret model daughter Alisabeth as her trademark eyes visibly widened at his appearance in attraction.
Great, another blonde drone that lost her brain to too much hairspray.
Ever clenched his teeth as he plastered on a sarcastic smile.
"Anything else you want to tell them mom? Like maybe my social security number since we're sharing so much today?"
Patricia nonchalantly kicked her son under the table with her new Loubotins.
"Be nice" she whispered in his ear as he rolled his eyes once more.
"so Patricia, have you heard about that new singing competition?"
Patricia leaned in with interest.
"No! I've been so focused on my new movie I haven't paid any attention."
Yeah, if massages, pedicures, retail therapy and new diet fads are what you call "focus"
Alisabeth added to the conversation.
"I thought it sounded pretty stupid to be honest with you, six people chosen out of the entire world? It's obviously rigged."
Ever ignored her complaint as he pulled out his brand new phone and typed in the website.
"Sorry mother, it's been delightful, but if you'll excuse me for a brief moment"
It took everything in Ever to not gag at his own formality.
Patricia glared.
"You're leaving already?"
Ever ran his fingers through his hair nervously.
"Just need to get some fresh air."
His mother nodded passive aggressively as she picked up a flute of champagne from a waiter's tray and downed it quickly.
Ever placed his phone in his pocket and breathlessly sprinted outside of the venue, dodging trays, celebrities, and extravagant props that added to the venue.
Ever was tired.
He hated the glitz,
He hated the glamour,
He hated the desperation of fame,
He hated how every part of his life was decided for him.
He just wanted to be normal.
Whatever that meant.
And so as his mother could be heard giving a speech inside of the event from the ridiculously large speakers that could blare from LA to Africa,
Ever filled out his application,
And pressed submit.
