"What?! Evangeline McDowell?! The strongest monster in school?!" said Shawn as they continued walking down the hallway. "Yeah. It's probably because of me." John said. "Because you're human?" asked Shawn. "Probably. She visited my house when I wasn't home once. I caught her talking to my brother, too...I don't know what her intentions are." said John, in a hurry. "So everyone here forgot you because of her?" asked Shawn again. "Probably. They stopped giving me the creepy looks they used to." replied John. "So where are we going now?" asked Shawn. "Nowhere..." said John, surprising Shawn. As John stopped in his tracks, he turned towards Shawn. "This gives me the feeling of Deja Vu...It's almost the same feeling as with Kim." said John. "Feeling? I'm not feeling anything..." said Shawn. "Look around. Take a look at the students around us." said John, annoyed. "I don't see anything weird about them..." said Shawn. "You don't see it? They're different." said John. "What do you mean...?" asked Shawn, confused. "Let's see..." John said as he inhaled deeply. "I'm human!" yelled out John, not as loudly as he intended, but louder than normal. "Wh-what are you doing?! They're going to--What...?" said Shawn as he looked amazed. The students didn't even move a muscle to John's confession. "How did you realise that...?" asked Shawn. "Like I'd know. I just saw some...Wavey thing around them? I can't really explain it." tried to explain John, failing. "Is he...Really human? He felt something I couldn't, and I'm a King Type..." though Shawn as he stared at John is amazement. "Okay...You can stop now!" said John with anger. No answer came. "Fine then..." said John as he began walking again. "Please wait for me!" said Shawn as he began walking behind him again.
"John...Please slow down!" asked Shawn, unable to catch up. "I'm sorry." said John as he stopped walking. "You're not following your own logic! We're going nowhere, John!" said Shawn. "No. You're actually wrong there." said John, pointing at a wall. "Eh...? What?" asked Shawn. "If you look carefully, the holes in the wooden walls of the school are different. We're not going in circles..." said John, shocking Shawn. "And If you look at the floor, the small cracks in the floor are different." further explained John. "How did you--" "But in a way, we aren't going anywhere. If you've been paying attention, you would notice another thing. All of the students we keep seeing have the same faces." finished with John. "How the...You're amazing!" said Shawn. "Not really. The problem is I don't know how to get out of the illusion." said John in a monotone voice. "That's a problem..." said Shawn as he watched John scratch his hair. "I doubt closing your eyes would help here...This McDowell girl is way more powerful than Kim." said John. "You're right..." said Shawn, getting depressed. "Hey, Shawn? Use your powers on me." requested John. "What?! There's no way! I can't do that!!" yelled Shawn. "I'm not suicidal. I want you to make a cut on my finger or something." said John. "Why?" asked Shawn. "Look at it this way. I've seen people breaking through illusions though pain. Wouldn't that work?" asked John. "Even if it was to work, hurting you is something I can't do!" said Shawn. "I'm asking you to. You want to get out, right? We have to try out every option." said John. "Even if I were to say yes, there's a problem! When I'm nervous, I can't really control it...I might aim for tour cheek, but cut you in half or something! I can't do that..." said Shawn in a sad tone.
"You'll be fine."
said John, leaving Shawn shocked. "I trust you. You won't cut me in half." said John. "How are you so fearless...? Tell me! How are you not afraid?" asked Shawn while raising his voice. "I'm terrified. Don't get me wrong." said John with a completely emotionless face. "Even if I'm scared, I'm feeling more anger than fear." said John while looking at Shawn. "Okay. I'll do it! Promise me you won't die!" said Shawn. "I will not die." promised John. "Okay...Here I go then!" said Shawn, and before John could realise it, in the blink of an eye, he found himself in the male bathroom of the academy with Shawn right beside him. "We did...It..." said John as he began to feel a horrible, unbearable pain. As he looked towards Shawn, he found him shaking, holding his mouth with both his hands. "What's wrong...?" asker John as he looked down, seeing the side of his stomach cut open. "Ah...Damn it..." said John as he carefully sat down. "Oh my God! I'm so sorry, John!!" yelled out Shawn, shaking as he kneeled down next to John. "I'm not dead, am I? It's not that bad anyway." said John. "What are you saying?! You're bleeding out! You can actually did if we don't treat it!!" said Shawn, bashing out at John. "Die...? Not happening." said John as he got up and began stretching as if he didn't feel the pain. "How...?" thought Shawn as he rattled with something inside his pocket, pulling out unused white stitches. "Why do you have those?" asked John. "I get bullied a lot. I get hurt a lot. My mum asked me to bring these with me wherever I go." replier Shawn as he began stitching John carefully.
"Eh...Thanks." said John as he proceeded to stay still. "How are you not feeling the pain right now?" asked Shawn with sorry. "How should I know? I just don't really feel it." said John. "That happened with that cyclops, too...How? What are you, John?" asked Shawn, amazed. "I'm a human being. You already know that." said John. "I still don't get it...A human can't take that much physical damage and be fine!" said Shawn. "I don't know." simply said John.
As Shawn finishes stitching John up, he steps back. "Let's go for now." said John. "Yeah..." agreed Shawn. As they left the bathroom, they began walking down a hallway again. "You never told me where we're going, now that I think about it..." said Shawn. "We're looking for Martina. Then we go for Evangeline. That's the plan, I guess." said John, disappointing Shawn. "What happens when we reach Evangeline?" asked Shawn. "We ask her why she did what she did...?" said John, unsure of what he's supposed to do. "Maybe you should have thought about this in more detail..." said Shawn with a disappointed look. "It doesn't matter. I just want her to remove her illusion completely." said John. "Wait, didn't we exit her illusion?" asked Shawn. "Maybe the illusion about out surroundings, but look around again. The fake students are more apparent. Why do you this I didn't care about people seeing the wound?" asked John. "Now that you mention it...I can kind of see it more easily, too..." said Shawn. As they continued walking, John stopped at the sight of someone familiar. Martina was walking around the corner. "Why did you stop?" asked Shawn as he looked over John's shoulder, seeing Martina. "She doesn't know you, right? How will you approach her?" asked Shawn. "Don't worry. I'll think of something...I think." said John as he slowly began walking towards Martina.
