" Can we talk? "

Josie read the text over and over again, wondering what would Penelope want to talk about.

Josie slapped herself mentally as the realization hit her. THE KISS!!

Of course they had to talk about it sooner or later. Josie just chose later, because she was afraid of the outcome, but she couldn't run away any longer. If she didn't answer the text she knew Penelope would burst inside her room and get her answer right away.

Josie began typing when she was interrupted by her phone ringing.

Lizzie's name appeared on the screen. Josie glanced at the time noticing it was 1pm, her dad was supposed to be downstairs already.

Josie picked up the phone as she took her suitcase and opened her door to leave the room.

Struggling to walk down the stairs with her neck bended at one side to keep her phone talking to Lizzie and carrying her suitcase, Josie successfully made her way to the lobby, only to be met by Penelope.

"Can we actually talk?" Penelope asked with hands on her hips.

"Sure!" Josie replied nervously while hanging up the call with her sister.

" When were you going to tell me that you were leaving?"

" Wait how do you know that-"

" Save your breath Josie, Lizzie told me everything!"

" I was-" Josie began, but Penelope cut her off again.

" I thought after last night things will be different." Penelope said with a harsh tone.

" I'm really sorry P!" Josie said while avoiding eye contact with her ex.

" What's going on in here Josie?" Lizzie's voice caused both girls to turn and face her.

" Are you going to tell her or should I?" Penelope asked.

" Tell me what? " Lizzie questioned, looking at her sister.

" Last night Penelope and I had a moment." Josie confessed.

" Please don't tell me you kissed satan Josie" Lizzie spoke her thoughts out loud.

" Yes she did." Penelope said proudly.

" But it didn't mean anything..."

As soon as Penelope heard those words coming from Josie her heart sank and her eyes began to water.

" You shouldn't have been kissing her in the first place, but if you're saying it didn't mean anything that's all that matters." Lizzie's smile grew bright as she hooked her hands with Josie's and started walking towards the parking lot.

" Have a great trip Jojo." Penelope said quietly to herself, her voice was weak, preparing to cry. Penelope took last glance at her ex girlfriend and walked away.

Josie's eyes turned back searching for Penelope, but it was a failed attempt. The raven haired beauty was already gone.

The guilt of lying to Penelope was killing Josie. She should've just told her the truth no matter how her sister would've reacted.

Why was Josie so scared of Lizzie's reaction? She is her sister and should support her no matter what, and deep down Josie knew that Lizzie would've supported her relationship with Penelope, just like she did at the start.

So what was the real reason Josie didn't admit the kiss meant something? Was it because she was afraid Penelope would hurt her again? Or it was too soon to let Penelope back in?

And just as all of those questions drove around Josie's mind the memory of that horrible night hit her like a storm...
