❝A successful marriage isn't the union of two perfect people. It's that of two imperfect people who have learned the value of forgiveness and grace.❞ -Darlene Schacht

A wedding is the union of families.

Belle couldn't help but feel betrayed by her parents. Here she was, their last surviving child and they were marrying her off.

The palace that Veer's parents chose as the wedding venue was breath taking. Veer's parents were so incredibly kind towards her and her family, showering them with gifts. Belle suspected that they felt guilty for obvious reasons.

Unlike other marriages in the past, her marriage their marriage was public. Anyone who was anyone was invited. This action taken by both families was to show the general public that there was this union was real. This did not bother her, she had always dreamed that when she would be married all of her subjects of any and all ranks would attend. What bothered her was the fact that she was marrying someone that she did not even know. She always imagine herself in the arms of a man that worked his ass off to be with her. Belle wanted someone whose was her equal but also someone who knew her better than she knew herself. Yet here she was being used a bargaining chip.

Veer on the other hand was anxiously waiting to leave the palace. The last thing that he wanted was to be in the public eye especially with his appearance. He was aware that his subjects wouldn't make a scene at his wedding but he had a deep pit in his stomach. One that he could not shake off no matter how much he tried to distract himself.

It wasn't until the woman that he was marrying stood before him for Veer to realize that any praise of her beauty would never be enough. She was absolutely breath taking. It seemed that whenever she looked at him with her piercing hazel eyes, she was trying to look into his soul. Despite being a royal, he was almost positive that he had never met this princess.

However as they stood as a married couple, her eyes reflected nothing but emptiness. It was like her soul was being sucked out of her and she was defenseless. Noticing his glances at her, Belle gave him a slight smile before they sat down in the appointed thrones.

Veer looked out on to the moon as he heard the gentle breathing of his now sleeping wife in the background.  After everything that occurred today at their marriage, he couldn't sleep and he had no idea how she could. He was shocked by the appearance of the witch, who had already completely ruined his life.

Yet there she was calm and sleeping. It was like the witch's words had no affect on her. Not that he blamed her. All of the witch's threats directly affected him. Only to hurt him. Not only single curse was throw at her for which Veer was grateful for.

There was no doubt in the back of his mind that Belle held no feelings towards him. Not that he would blame her when his reputation exceeded him throughout the realms. It was true that Veer had been in the company of many girls before getting cursed, but not once did he feel affection towards any. He never had truly been in love with someone, and Veer wasn't sure if he would be able to give Belle what she deserved.

But he knew that his curse would be permanent if he couldn't get his wife to fall in love him and remain in love with him.

Love. Pyar. Mobhaat.

All this bullshit angered Veer, he was never supposed to end up with anyone. Especially not in the form that he was in. Now poor Belle had gotten dragged into this mess. He had warned his parents but they did not take his words into consideration. Now Belle would be blamed if he couldn't be restored to his former self.

Veer closed his eyes and let out a breath of air in anger. He should have known that old wrench would come back to make his life more of a living hell.

His thoughts suddenly wandered back to the kiss that they shared at the wedding ceremony, triggering the timer for the curse.

"Well. Well Well. Is that Veer... I see." A voice interrupted after Veer and Belle's short kiss.

"GAURDS!" Veer's father stood up.

The old lady smiled and with a flick of her wrist Veer's father was seat down in his seat held by force. In addition all the weapons of the royal guards was dropped onto the floor.

"How rude of you Veer not to invite me of all people." The witch continued to smirk as she walked closer to the couple.

"Oh what a beautiful bride you have indeed. Be sure not to scare her off." The witch paused to examine Belle.

"And why would that be ma'am? We're bound by god. I am his wife." Belle called out, shocking most of the audience in the room. This even put the witch into silence as if she didn't expect Belle to respond the way that she did.

"Oh dearie you are right, how about I adjust my curse?" Suddenly the halls filled with people muttering.

"What is it that you want!" Veer finally exclaimed. His voice booming all throughout the temple immediately quieted any remain voices talking.

The witch only smiled, "Here's your wedding gift." She conjured up a glass rose with her hand.

"Now darlings take this special gift of mine. For your sake I hope that your true love's kiss can break this curse, my darling...otherwise you'll stay ugly." She warned.

"Oh and before I forgot. Each petal is worth a month. Hope that helps. Tat-ta dearies." With that the old lady disappeared with a cloud of smoke in the spot that she stood, leaving the newlyweds in shock.

Veer had only six months to make his wife fall in love with him. He wasn't sure if he was ready or if she would. All he knew he was that he had to at least try.
