Kaneki's P.O.V.

After four periods, it was now lunch time, I can't take my hunger anymore and I decide to eat my food. I was all alone in the table but it's okay I don't have any friends to begin with.

I heard some footsteps and suddenly stopped and I heard a deep, raspy voice.

"Is this seat taken?"

My eyes widen a little bit and I look up from my lunch, I saw those steel (e/c) eyes again with unreadable gaze.

"No." I answer quickly, I look down to my lap. I don't know what to do and I felt him sit across from me.

"Ken. Your name is Ken, am I right?" He asks, I felt uncomfortable someone calling me by my first name. Let alone a stranger.

"Y-Yeah but I prefer calling me Kaneki." I put my hand to rub my chin, it's my trait whenever I'm nervous.

"Ken suits you. You can call me by my first name too. I'm not used calling anyone by their last name because I grew up in States." He shrugs while sipping his vanilla shake.

"O-Okay... (Y/n)."

The bell rang, indicating that lunch time is over, (Y/n) stood up and bid his goodbye. I don't if we're friends or what but part of me wants to be friends with him but the my other part said to stay away from him, there was something feel off about him but I can't judge a person by their appearance, maybe he was actually a good person and he decide to put a cold facade.

I stood up and clean my mess. I went to my next class which is Literature, I sighed and wish that this day would end so quickly.

I already changed my uniform into a waiter's uniform, I have a job as a waiter in this coffee shop called Anteiku. They were nice towards me but Touka would always order me around and always angry at me for no reason.

I arrive at the coffee shop as I open the door, I saw many people there and my co-workers were busy as in super busy that they didn't notice me.

I went to employee's only room and out my stuff there. I exit the room and I went to help Irimi-san with the orders. Nishiki is the first one to notice me.

"You're already here, idiot."

Koma notice that Nishiki was talking to me and he smiled and asked me about my first day.

"Well... it was great but I didn't make any friends but there was someone who instantly caught my eye." I said, his eyes suddenly pop in my head and I shivered.

"You got a crush on your first day of school? How lame." Nishiki smirks.

"No! I don't have a crush. It's just... this boy was rather mysterious... Just looking at him in the eyes made me shiver. It was disturbing and he always wore a stoic expression so I couldn't read him." I ramble, I didn't notice thst Nishiki was giving me a look.

"I didn't know you're gay." Nishiki blurts out.

"Who's gay?" Touka joins in.

"I'm not gay, Nishiki-senpai." I glared at him and I went back to work.

"Whatever you say, baka."
