"Damn it!" I groaned as the same person beat me at mancala on Club Penguin for the 5th time. It was probably bad that an 18 year old girl still played on Club Penguin, but hey, we all have our fetishes. At the sound of my voice, my twin brother opened his eyes sleepily.
"Are you on Club Penguin again, Claire?" he mumbled from the top bunk of our bunk bed.
"I..um...maybe. Why do you care?" I asked defensively, quickly minimizing the tab. I ran my tongue over my braces, an odd habit I'd picked up over the years.
He scoffed. "That's a kid's website. Honestly, no one on there is over 12."
"Oh, yeah? Wanna bet?"
"Sure," he said, sitting up and smirking.
"Fine. If I find someone over 12 by the end of this week, then you have to drive Ruby's pink car down the road while blasting "Barbie Girl" from the speakers."
"And if you don't, then you have to stop playing on Club Penguin." No. That could NOT happen.
"You're on, Chris. Now go back to bed so I can start looking." He simply fipped me off and buried himself under the covers again. I rolled my eyes and opened the correct tab again. The mancala game had automatically closed and the only penguins in the room were me and the other player, lukethepenguin.
Judging from the penguin's clothes, the person was a boy, but you could never tell for sure. I decided to chat with him/her.

I stopped for a second and grinned triumphantly. Chris was going to be pretty annoyed. Then again, the person could be lying...
clairebear18: hold up, how will i know if you're actually old er than twe lve?
lukethepenguin: why does it matter?
clairebear18: my brother and i have a bet: if i can find someone here older than twe lve by the end of the week, he has to do something embarassing
lukethepenguin: oh cool. my best friends and i are always pulling tricks like that :)
clairebear18: your best friends sound fun. my best friend is the internet. jk my best friend's name is ruby and she's da bae xD what are your friends like?
lukethepenguin: well i live with my three best friends and they're awesome. speaking of my friends, they want to know who's keeping me up so late. *raises eyebrows at you* i think they see the glow of my phone from my bunk

clairebear18: um ok then? well my name's claire and im ate teen. i like gummy bears and eyeliner (sounds random but yeah) i still have braces ugh and im in love with this band called fi ve sos
lukethepenguin: oh really? i've...heard of the band. who's your favorite member?
clairebear18: hmm i'd have to say michael bc his purple hair is perfection but im also obsessed with luke's lip ring, ashton's giggle, and calum's sexiness so it's a tie lol :)
lukethepenguin: cool. i like luke bc we have twinning names :) my turn! i'm luke (my username, duh) im also ate teen and i like penguins. a lot.

When Luke and I were finally done chatting, it was 3:00 in the morning. I sighed, annoyed because I had school in the morning. Damn school, ruining my life with its earliness.
I shut my laptop and smiled again. It was going to be so much fun watching Chris' expression when I told him. And I wasn't gonna lie, I was also kinda looking forward to another chat with lukethepenguin.
LUKE
After I was done talking to Claire, I bit my lip and let my phone drop to my stomach. I'd only just met her and it already seemed like I'd known her for a long time. I didn't tell her much about me, because she was a fan and she'd probably make the connection somehow.
But I had to admit, it was kinda refreshing making a new friend based off of my personality and not my fame.
