Why Me?

      "You've met a terrible fate, haven't you?"

An unknown voice taunted you. All you could see was pitch black nothingness; pure torture. You couldn't speak, even when you tried, your voice failed to be present. "Poor, sweet thing...~ It's as if you are a mouse trapped in an endless maze of suffering and confusion, and I, the sadistic scientist, who enjoys every last drop of your tears." the voice cackled.

"Every. Last. Drop."

Not even a faint scream could set you free from your solemn silence. Though, from the voice you heard, you almost didn't want it to...How did this sad situation even come to be? How can you get out of it? Did you want to go back?  Why here?

"As delightful as it to watch you slowly lose your sanity, I've got business to attend to. Goodbye."

Absolute silence filled the void. The peace you were looking for, seemed to also be the beginning of your chaos. This silence was dreadfully loud, as strange as that might sound. You were now left alone, in the dark, with your thoughts. The last thing you needed was a one on one with your mind. You closed your eyes and waited.

And waited.

And waited..

And waited...

And wait-

Static plagued your crippled brain. Finally, some sound at last, or was that just your mind playing tricks on you? It got louder, in fact, the whole room got a bit more static-like as well. This was almost as bad as the silence. The noise was pounding at your skull now, and you felt numb. Your vision blurred, and you shook like the last leaf on a tree right before winter. Something warm and salty started to run down your mouth. A nose bleed.

Soon enough, everything started to bleed, your mouth, eyes, ears, you name it. Breathing at this point seemed pointless, but nonetheless, you trekked on. Pins and needles was a good way of describing your discomfort. It felt familiar, almost comforting, inviting. Your frail, fragile body was crumpled like a piece of paper. A sudden cold wave ran throughout your whole entire frame, making you shudder. The static was now on full blast, and with a high pitched, almost nails on a  chalkboard, sound to accompany it.

Using the last breath in your whole entire system, you uttered "Why me. . . ?"

Then everything was gone.

You woke up on a cold checkered floor, with a killer migraine. Still deciding on whether or not to get up, somebody kicked you in the side. "Rise and shine, sweetcakes. Reality is here and he's not here to kiss your ass..." a gruff and scratchy voice croaked with no enthusiasm whatsoever. You groaned out of pain and stumbled up onto your feet. You looked at the source of the voice and saw that it was a toad-like lady with her slimy hair styled in a bun. You moaned, wondering how you got here.
