You and Alastor had just arrived at the bar, and the two of you were starting to chat. When you were about to sit down, he pulled your chair back. "Ladies first." he said, as he gestured for you to sit. You obliged, letting him push your chair in as you sat down. He went over to your side, sitting down on a tall stool. "Husk, mind getting me a Bee's Knees? What would you like, (Y/N)?"

"I'll take a (F/A/D). Thank you." you said, tiredly. He looked at you with a proud expression, his smile widening. "An excellent choice, my dear. Though, I shouldn't be surprised, since it is you we're talking about here." You could see the cat named Husk roll his eyes out of the corner of yours.

Husk stopped cleaning the shot glass in his hand, and laid it on the table, as he went over to grab some clean glasses. He grumbled something. It sounded along the lines of "I don't get paid enough for this..." As the drinks were being made, Alastor looked over at you. You saw this, and avoided eye contact.

"So, I know it's none of my business, but, if I may ask...What made you so upset?" Alastor said as he leaned on the counter of the bar table. Your mind debated on whether or not to tell him but in the end, you decided to get it out and over with. "Angel and I...we got into an argument, and it escalated. And now, it seems like I don't have a friend, or any, to be honest..." you said, your head sinking.

"Ah, so I see..." he said, his eyes fixating on you. "I... really am pathetic, aren't I?" you asked, looking up at him with glossy eyes. The smile on your face was small and trembling, looking as if it was going to shatter any second now. "No, I don't think your pathetic. I just think that moping about it is." he said, bluntly.

Husk had arrived with the drinks, as he handed you yours. You quickly and quietly thanked him, as you raised an eyebrow at Alastor. He took a sip of his drink, holding up a finger to show he was about to talk in a second. "What was the argument about?" he asked, putting down his cocktail glass. "I-It was...uh...about an item I had received from someone. Someone he doesn't remotely like." you said, as you looked away from him while taking a sip of your (F/A/D). You said you didn't drink, but that wasn't entirely true.

"Hmm, so I see..." he mumbled, looking at his drink and stirring it with the little straw that came with it. You took a big gulp of yours, becoming more and more nervous. "So, he found my handkerchief, did he?" Alastor said, looking at his drink while dragging his fingers on the rim. That nearly made you spit out your drink. Words escaped from your grasp yet again, as you sat there completely silent. He chuckled, as he ran his hand through his hair.

"What's that reaction for? You make it extremely apparent what you are referring to." he laughed. Embarrassed, you looked away, trying to escape from the situation. "It's quite alright. I'm sure he'll get over it, though, I don't know when. I just know that he deeply cares about you, and wants you to be welcome at the hotel."

"I honestly don't know why he cares so much about me...we just met, and yet, it feels like we've known each other for years."

He hummed and leaned back a bit, closing his eyes and crossing his arms. It seemed like he was in agreement with your confusion. "Angel and I, we don't exactly see eye to eye, as you've clearly seen for yourself. He has...never really agreed with me, ever, actually. And, he doesn't seem like the type to get overly worried about anyone. Not even his own sister, but, then again, she can handle herself. So, it's a real phenomenon to everyone in the hotel, especially to Vaggie." You cringed at the words "seem like the type", as it reminded you all too well of the conversation you and Angel had.

"You know... it's nice to finally have someone to really have a chat with. Husk isn't exactly the type for a lovely conversation about the weather and such." he said, turning his head to look at Husk. Husk looked at Alastor, scowling at him. Alastor lightly chuckled and turned back to face you. "Anyways, what has your time been at the hotel so far? Disregarding the recent unfortunate incidents." You turned your body to face the counter, trying to concentrate on the question. "Hmm...I suppose it's been...somewhat alright. I mean, there have been some less than favorable run-ins with a few demons here and there, but, other than that, it's been fine. Although, now that I really think about it..." you said, growing more concerned by the interactions you had in the past.
