"Uh hey, this is Calum right?" Leah says stupidly into her phone. She physical face-palmed because she sounded so awkward.
"Oh hey, Lion! What's up, how's the best friend thing going?" He says back. Leah lets out a sigh of relief and blushes a little bit that he used her nickname. Leah was honestly surprised that Calum wanted to talk to her, guys like him don't talk to girls like her. He was hot, funny and smooth, and Leah was average looking and slightly awkward.
She leans her head back against the wall behind her, "Good and bad I guess." She replies simply not really wanting to annoy him with her story.
"Why's that?" He says back. She can hear louder noises in the backround, sounding like there are other people with him.
"Well they weren't dating as I thought, Luke is just a love sick puppy for her." Calum laughs. "Charlie didn't even remember kissing-" She starts, but gets cut off by a loud noise in the backround of the phone call. "Cal, you want to talk a different time?" Leah says quietly.
"No! No sorry it's just my annoying friends being rude!" He says loudly, she hears a quiet 'fuck you', "You want to come over here? We are just hanging out," Calum suggests to her. Leah thinks of an excuse to make up so she doesn't have to go. But she decides to go, because she can't think of anything else to do and can't come up with a reason not to.
"Sure, could I invite my roommate?" She asks, maybe Regan will come this time. She doubted it.
"Yeah sure sure. I'll text you my room number!" He shouts, and hangs up. Leah rolls her eyes at him, but can't help but smile a bit at the fact he had invited her over. She decided that she might have a bit of an interest in him. She also decides that it would be a bad idea to tell Luke, yeah he would be not happy. But it's only a bit of an interest, Luke doesn't need to know everything, it might not even lead anywhere. Leah agrees with her thoughts and gets up to find Regan.
-
"Please come with! It's going to be fun!" Leah begs Regan, like she thought, she doesn't want to go.
"No it's not, I won't want to even be there and you actually know someone who is there. Who knows there might be like 5 of them!" Regan exclaims, being stubborn.
"You talk like boys are aliens or something." Leah rolls her eyes. At his point she really can't convince her to go anywhere. Leah especially didn't want to make her uncomfortable.
"Because they are." Regan says and goes back to the book she was reading.
"Whatever, I'll be back later." Leah says and walks out of her room, not waiting for Regan's response. She looks down at her phone at the room number that Calum had texted her. She knew where it was, because Luke's dorm was right by Calum's.
Leah thought it was very strange that she never saw Calum, considering how close him and Luke are. He wasn't hard to miss either, she would notice him if she saw him in the hallways or just in general. She shook her head and keep walking, trying to stay calm before she goes to a dorm room with hot guys. She got it, totally.
Appoaching the door, she knocks on it waiting for someone to answer. There were manly screams and some weird noises coming from inside and she was sort of scared of what was in there. She was about to turn around and leave when there wasn't an answer, but the door flew open.
"Leah!" He says, he's wearing a black band t-shirt with matching black skinny jeans. Luke wears the same thing. His hair is a bit messed up and he is wearing a goofy smile on his face, "Well come on in," He says when she doesn't say anything.
"Nice place." She comments, when in reality it's a incredibly messy. She has to step over clothes that are scattered on the ground, and other random objects.
"Yeah sorry about that, when you live with two other guys it's pretty hard to keep it clean." Calum says.
"Two other guys?" Leah could probably guess who his roomates were, but she wanted to be surprised.
"Yeah just follow me," Calum says and takes Leah's hand, giving her stomach a twirl. He leads her into the living room where no one was to be found. "Are they suppose to be-" Leah starts but gets cut off.
"ATTACK," She hears someone scream and jump out behind the couch. Calum drops her hand just to shield his face, Leah does the same.
The person behind the couch was none other than Michael Clifford. He was holding a nerf gun and was repetitively shooting Calum, Leah couldn't help but laugh at the sight.
"Got you now- Oh hey leah!" He says and puts down his weapon. "Hi Michael," She laughs.
He turns to Calum, "So Leah is the girl you were talking to earlier?" Michael says and gives him a look, Leah was confused as to what kind of look it was.
"Yes she is and you know her?" Calum asks, giving Michael a small glare. Leah doesn't notice the soft tension in the room.
"Of course I know her, she's best friends with Luke." Michael says like it's obvious. Calum doesn't respond which makes an awkward silence.
"So you live here?" Leah asks Michael, breaking the silence.
"Me? Oh no, I don't. You know where I live you were there last night!" Michael exclaims laughing like he thought it was the funniest thing ever, Leah can't help but laugh too. "Right, sorry forgot it was your party."
"Actually I live with Ashton and Nate," Calum explains. Leah almost chokes on her spit.
"Ashton lives here?" She says. She didn't even know that Ashton lived on campus, she always thought he just came here for parties. "Yes he does is that an issue?" Calum asks seeing her discomfort.
"No-" She starts, but Michael cuts her off. "He flirts with her all the time, which makes her uncomfortable because Charlie is her best friend." He says, which he is now sitting on the couch watching something on the TV.
"Do you know everything?" Leah asks him. He shrugs, "Sort of."
Calum rolls his eyes, "Didn't you say you were going to bring your roomate?" He asks, she didn't have time to tell him Regan didn't want to come. "Yeah she didn't really want to come. She's sort of shy." Leah says.
"What's her name?" Michael asks, looking at the TV still. "Regan," Leah answers.
"Oh Regan Winters," Michael says. "You know her?" Leah asks, Regan never talks about talking to people. Leah knew she had friends but she didn't like to hang out with many of them. "Yeah she's in my math class. She's quiet," He says.
"Okay well Leah I'll show you around," Calum says, taking her hand again dragging her away from the living room. She could tell Calum did not want to be around Michael anymore for whatever reason.
They walk around his small dorm room, it was actually pretty nice. And it was big too, bigger than her own dorm. They eventually see Nate, who is extremely nice and is dating one of Leah friends. And they also see Ashton, who was laying in his room listening to loud music. He waves barely to Calum and doesn't really even notice her. She was glad he didn't.
"And this is my room, it's the best room in this place." He says. It was pretty cool, the typical teenage boy room. "So what do you wanna do?"
"I don't really care," Leah says, "We can just hang out." She says. She wanted to see if things between them would be awkward, because she didn't want have that with him. She lays on his bed.
Calum picks up his guitar, "Want me to show you a few songs?" He says and smirks.
