Blaze's Origins

Chapter 1

Blaze's POV

"Silver! He's back!" I said to the platinum hedgehog. He looked at me with an exhausted expression. "Thats the 5th time this week! Usually he only comes back every 3 times." As he grumbled he started using his psychokinesis to hoist himself in the air and fly towards the bright fiery area. I ran next to him jumping from one collapsed building to another.

This is the life I've grown up in, before I was born. My parents died due to the flames that now consume our world. It was only me and Silver from then on. Silver isn't my actual brother his parents abandoned him at a young age and so my family took him in. Now that there gone though I had to be responsible for him. I was 7 at the time but I've learned to act triple my age for the sake of keeping him safe. Though he was a less than a year younger than me he always kept this pure innocence in him even in this destructive world we live in. Growing up I've learned how to control my fire ability and (with Silver's help) try to stop Ibilis once and for all! But that's what I said to myself for the past 7 years now... and it seems as though nothing has changed...

After another beat down to Iblis I always felt a bit more hope in doing so as to a better future for us. "AARGHH!!!" Silver yelled hitting his fist against a wall making a crack in it. "Every time we push him down he always comes back up! When will it ever be enough?!" He cried more his fist shaking as he hit the wall again. I was surprised by his sudden out burst but I knew him hurting his hands now was not going to Help later. "That's enough." I said gently yet sternly grabbing his arm. "Getting upset will not help us in anyway to defeat Iblis" "And how will we be able to do so? He keeps coming back even more constantly now! Aren't you tired of this Blaze? How much longer will we have to go before he's finally defeated?" Silver said anger and desperation in his eyes. I couldn't look right at them. I couldn't tell him when it will be done for i don't know the answer myself. I closed my eyes and crossed my arms to think of how to answer him.

"Maybe I could help." A dark voice said above us. I turned around to see a black and grey tipped hedgehog with green eyes staring down at us. His presence seemed dangerous and the way he held himself didn't show me any signs of anything good. "How?" Silver asked. I gave him a glare though he wasn't paying any attention to it. Idiot! Haven't I taught you not to talk to strangers? "Simple, to destroy this enemy of yours you must go back to its very source. Back to its beginning." He said. I was now curious of this information and confused. How can we go back? "That's impossible! We can't time travel if we knew we would've done it sooner." Silver said now looking at him as a waste of time. "Come on Silver we don't have time to bother with this guy." I said to him and started to walk away. "What if I told you I can send you there?" The dark being said. I stopped in my tracks my ears twitched in interest. "Do you really have the ability to do that?" Silver asked in slight awe. "If you are willing to let me show you how I can send you there myself." He said.

I was curious no less but I still kept my guard. "What's your name?" I asked turning to him holding my gaze firm from his. "You May call me Mephelis." Mephelis said his eyes never once blinking. Is he challenging me or something? "Alright we'll go. Anything to save our future right Blaze?" Silver asked already starting to move forward. "Well..." I began as I didn't fully trust this Mephelis guy. "Come on, we both made a promise. No matter the risk we're going to take it to save our world." God he was good. Using my own line against me. "Fine but we still stay on alert alright?" "Seems fine to me Blazey." "Don't call me that it's horrendous." I said elbowing his side. I didn't know what would happen when following Mephelis but I do know that if there is any danger Silver and I would be able to take it down as how we've done our whole life.
