You finished putting up your christmas lights on the outside of your home, your gloves keeping your fingers barely warm as the snow fell. Your hat was pulled over your ears, your earphones sitting there blasting christmas music as you hummed along.
You climbed down the ladder and stood back a few paces to marvel at the lights you had spent quite a lot of money on. Your neighbor, who you had never met properly before, always seemed to try and one-up you when you put up your outdoor christmas lights, and he had done for the past couple of years that you had both lived there.
You would put up a raindeer in your garden, and he would put up three. You would put up an inflatable snowman and he would put up the snowman and father christmas.
He annoyed you so much just from this. But this year you went full out. You had fairy lights lining your roof, you had snowflakes being projected onto the front of your house, you had bought more lights and decorations for the front of your house this year than you ever had. Now you had to wait a few days to see if your neighbor would attempt to one-up you again this year.
"Nice lights." A voice startled you slightly, and you turned around and saw a tall, broad shouldered male stood behind you. His cheeks pink, the tip of his nose red from the cold and in his gloved hands he held two mugs. "You'd been out here for a while, so I made hot chocolate for you."
He offered out a mug to you, and you smiled softly. "Thanks but I don't really accept-"
"I'm your neighbor. The one you always try to outdo my decorations and lights every year."
"You're that guy? The guy that always multiplies everything by six whenever I do something?"
"Okay, so six is a bit of an over exaggeration." He laughed. "But yes, I'm Kim Seokjin, your next door neighbor."
"I'm Y/N." You smiled softly. He sipped at his own mug before pulling a face which caused you to furrow your eyebrows at.
"It's already cold."
"Come inside, I'll make you another one." You offered kindly and he got a teasing smirk.
"I don't know if I can... I'll be so busy trying to outshine your decorations~"
"Don't be an ass, and just come inside. You're already looking like Rudolph."
"Really?" His eyes widened and you nodded with a laugh. He smiled at your laugh, automatically finding it cute.
"Really. Now come inside." You headed towards your front door. You heard Seokjin's footsteps crunch in the snow behind you and you opened your door and let yourself and the man both inside. You both stomped the snow off your feet before heading further into your house. You were thankful you had left your fire on, and you welcomed the warm glow from that and the fairy lights on the christmas tree.
"Nice place." He hummed gently. "Very warm and cozy."
"Thank's, whipped cream and marshmallows?"
"Please."
You nodded and headed towards your kitchen, letting your neighbor settle in the living room where the tree and fire was. You took your hat off, and your gloves before making two hot chocolates and adding the toppings. You headed back to the living room to see Seokjin holding a few of your framed photos up from your shelf.
"You were a cute kid." He hummed and you felt the heat rise to your cheeks. You put the mugs of hot chocolate onto their coasters and sat down on your sofa. "I think you're even cuter now though."
Your eyes widened and he turned around, making eye contact with you and winking.
