The Twins

Chapter 2

Friday

Sydni and I were walking to Hunter and Keith's house, i was nervous. We were now coming into view of their house. A red head girl comes into view, she was standing next to Hunter. Oh god, please tell me he doesn't have a girlfriend, please, please, please. "Wait! Let's go around back and see who the girl is." I speak, turning back. We went behind the houses that were right upon the pond. We peeked through the gap between the houses and looked across the street to their house. I couldn't get a good glimpse of the girl because she wasn't facing our way, i could see Keith and Hunter both on the porch with her though. She started to turn and leave but we moved out of the way so she wouldn't see us. We ran back onto the road and began to walk back to Sydni's house for a minute, then head back over to Hunter and Keith's.

"You think that was Hunter's girlfriend?" Sydni speaks, breaking the silence.

"I hope not." I mutter. "Let's go back outside."

We stepped outside and saw the twins' 10 year old sister, Sierra. It was convenient seeing her because I could finally ask if Hunter was dating anyone.

"Sierra!" I call, coming closer to her short self. She turned, startled a bit but surprised to see me. "Is Hunter dating anyone?" I ask, standing in front of her.

She nodded slightly and began to speak, "He is dating Morgan."

"No he isn't! They broke up the month she left, they weren't together very long either." I spat, frustrated. I was unsure about this 'information' she had just given me.

"Oh. I thought they were dating, guess not." She muttered.

"Let's go over there." I pull Sydni away from Sierra and we start to walk. Once again, we come into view of their tall house that was very similar to Sydni's. I didn't see Keith and Hunter on the porch anymore. Damn, they went in. I turned back and we started to walk on the grass that lined the pond.

"Autumn! You nasty!" Someone yelled at me from the direction we were walking but diagonal. I jumped, startled by the sudden yell at me. I turned toward the voice to see Abby, Morgan, and a black girl I didn't recognize. "Your so gross!" Morgan yelled again. I had a puzzled look on my face. What were they talking about?! They got closer and I noticed Keith was now coming from the opposite direction they were coming from, but turning to walk with Morgan and Abby. Keith grinned as he came into view of us and now knew who Morgan was yelling at. "Your nasty!" Morgan snapped again, face to face with me, Sydni at my side. Abby stood to the left of Morgan and the black girl I didn't recognize stood to the left of Abby.

"What did I do?" I asked, curious. Keith was now sitting on the grass in his gray sweatpants, white shirt, and snap back. He sat to the side of me but a little more behind me, grinning like a school girl who had just ruined another girl's life.

"Brooklyn told us what you did!" Abby snapped, narrowing her eyes and scrunching up her nose.

"What did I do??" I questioned again.

"Brooklyn told us about you telling Carson you wanted to have sex with him over the phone while you were with her." Morgan scrunched up her nose and waited for a response from me. Carson was Brooklyn's boyfriend and I had never ever done that, nor did I want to!

"EW! I didn't do that!" I narrowed my eyes and made a puking motion. They giggled at my motion and loosened up. Keith, still sitting on the grass and grinning was listening to the whole conversation as if it was a novel and couldn't stop reading.

I then, started to tell Abby and Morgan what Brooklyn had said about them, pay back to her. After I told them most things, I stood next to Sydni awkwardly. "Well, I have to go." I spoke, breaking the silence and pulling Sydni with me to the road.

"Bye!" Morgan and Abby called. We began to walk on the sidewalk. Morgan, Abby, the black girl, and Keith caught up to us and asked if we could stay. I replied with a slight nod.

Morgan opened her mouth and blurted out the thing I most definitely didn't want to hear, "Did you hear, Autumn? I'm dating Hunter!"
