Mae's POVI was brought up to my room accompanied by Hobi. He dragged me to the bathroom and handed me my clothes.
"I might as well hand these to you now. Taehyung wants you to actually change into pajamas tonight." He explained, walking over to the bath and turning the water off.
That's something different. I thought it would play out like last night did, but it seems like it won't. Taehyung is very confusing apparently. One minute he acts like a full rapist, then the next he's smiling and showering you in soft kisses. And it's annoying, it makes it difficult to choose to love him, or hate him.
He tested the water temperature with his finger and nodded before getting up. "It's really warm. Body wash and hair products are all in that basket. And call me when you're done. I'll be just outside the door if you need anything." He cheered on his way to the door. He left and shut the door, allowing me to bathe in peace.
After a relaxing half an hour, I got out of the tub and wrapped a towel around me before knocking on the door. Soon after, Hobi opened the door and came in, closing the door behind him and clapping his hands together.
"Alright. Let's get you ready for him." He winked and grabbed another towel for my hair.
I rolled my eyes at his comment. I don't really know why, but Hobi seems like one of the guys I can trust. He's someone I feel like I can talk to. And who knows, maybe this appearance is all an act to keep my trust for at least one of them strong. Hell for all I know, if I said anything to any of them they could easily report it all to Taehyung. So far my order from most trustworthy to least is: Jin, Hobi, Jungkook, a tie for fourth between Joon, Yoongi, and Jimin, then Tae. I haven't even actually talked to Joon and I trust him more than Tae.
After a couple minutes I was dressed in a lacy white nightgown.
Hobi looked down at me with a smile. "Alright. I'll take these from you and let you take some time to yourself before Tae gets here okay?" He said softly. I nodded in understanding before he kissed my forehead. He waved goodbye and left my room, leaving me alone to think.
I sat on the bed, kneading through my messy hair with my fingers while waiting for the next thing to happen. It had been about 10 minutes since Hobi had left and Tae still isn't here. I looked over to the nightstand closest to the door and bathroom. On top of it laid my phone that Tae had had mended and messed with a little. I picked it up and tried my thumbprint. But it didn't work. I furrowed my eyebrows and tried my old password which didn't work either. I started to get a little frustrated so I stood up and went out to the small terrace to get some fresh air. I set my phone on the table out there in between two chairs. I leaned against the wooden railing and stared out at the deserted land that went wider than the eye could see.
"You forgot the password I told you earlier already?" I jumped as a deep voice came out of no where from behind me. I turned around to see Tae leaning against the door frame, hands in his pockets, staring at me.
"W-what?" I stuttered out.
He rolled his eyes and stood straight taking a couple steps towards me. "The password? To your phone? It's 301295." He answered now standing next to me. He leaned against the railing on my left and stared out along with me. "It's really quiet here isn't it?" He asked indirectly still looking out to the scenery of emptiness.
"Why?" I asked in a weak voice.
"What, love?" He replied turning to look at me.
"Why is '301295' the password? I-I'm just wondering because it must mean something." I answered still not looking at him.
He gently laid a hand on my right shoulder, still staring at me. "Well, actually it's my birth date. The 30th of December, 1995." He answered softly. He let out a deep sigh and laid his head on my shoulder, shifting his head into the crook of my neck. "Tonight has been really pretty. Good weather too." He continued, trying to get me to talk more.
But I didn't feel like talking, or smiling, or being there in general. I wanted to sleep in my own bed at home talking to one of my best friends and wasting my life away with my job of writing. Some people would say they'd rather actually have a man by their side to keep them safe, but not me. Just in a day I've realised that a lot of men in this world are actual scum off the bottom of a shoe. Sure Taehyung is handsome and has a pretty face, but he's been horrible to me so far. He gives me no chance to like him when he's how he has been. Currently he's being soft, an act to try and get me to like him. It's not like he actually cares for me, not many have ever cared about me. A solemn tear rolled down my face as I kept staring at the night sky that was full of stars. I shifted slightly causing Tae to look up at me.
He put his head up and looked at me with concern. "Sweetheart are you...crying?" He questioned.
He observed my face for a little while longer before cupping my face between both of his hands.
"Look at me." He said seriously, trying to get my full attention.
I kept looking at the sky, refusing to turn from its brightness. He tilted my head slightly to make me look into his eyes.
"Look at me." He repeated studying my eyes like he's trying to find something.
He pointed down, right at the small space in between us. "When you're here. With me, you are the safest you have ever been. I know you probably don't think the same, but you are standing inches away from one of the most successful Mafia's in the world! I've killed a lot of people, Mae and if anything ever happens to you while you're here, know that I'll kill who I have to, to keep you safe. I need you to understand why I do this. I'm protecting you from all the shit the world can bring a girl like yourself. And it'll be hard for you to do this, but you need to put a little more trust in me. Because everything I do is for a reason, and usually a damn good one too. So don't feel like you're kidnapped or endanger while you're here. Because in this house, in my arms, you're safe. Never forget that." He lectured, pulling me into a hug and smoothing down my hair.
He slowly rocked both of us back and forth with his arms securely wrapped around my waist. After a couple minutes he sighed loudly before lifting me up bridal-style and carrying me inside. He plopped me down on the bed with my phone and shut the sliding door, also closing the curtain. I looked up at him questioning. He chuckled at brought a hand up in surrender.
"The hairs on your neck were standing up! And you had goosebumps, I was saving you from the cold!" He pouted while walking over to the bed.
He laid down on the opposite side of the bed before scooting over to me and wrapping an arm around my shoulders, in a side hug. He squeezed me gently before getting up and taking off his shirt, revealing his toned abs. He chuckled lightly before laying back down beside me. He lifted me up and lightly placed me down on top of him, my head on his chest. He wrapped his arms around my waist and kissed my cheek.
"I love you so much, Mae." he hummed lightly before closing his eyes and trying to sleep.
