Goodbye

"HAVE YOU SEEN CHAN?" Boyoung ran through the hallway. "Excuse me, nurse. Do you know which room is Bang Chan in?" Boyoung asked the nurse. "Ah- he is in room 101!" the nurse exclaimed and Boyoung ran.

He had hidden something from her.

FLASHBACK

"Hello, Auntie." Boyoung greeted her as Chan's mother saw her enter the hospital. "Is Chan okay?" Boyoung asked. Chan's mother let out warm smile- which seemed off. "Ah- the guy had been sent to jail with his group of boys- i'd say we are free from bullies now," Boyoung laughed to ease the atmosphere.

"Boyoung- Chan hasn't told you anything?"

"What?"

"He hasnt? I guess- I have to tell you before its too late."

"What is it? Is it that ba-"

"He has a heart disease."

END OF FLASHBACK.

Boyoung couldnt stop hearing his mother's words. 'His blood vessels had been blocked causing his heart to have certain problems. No wonder- he had been weak and easily fatigue these days.' these words couldnt stop replaying in her mind.

She was shocked.

To see a boy with his eyes closed.

On the hospital bed.

"Chan! Hi, why didn't you tell me?"

Boyoung immediately sat beside him and held his hand.

"WHY! DIDNT YOU TELL ME?"

"I THOUGHT WE WERE GOING TO BE TOGETHER!"

"I THOUGHT WE WERE GOING TO FACE ALL HARDSHIPS TOGETHER."

" I THOUGHT WE WONT BE ALONE ANYMORE."

"I THOUGHT-"

"that I loved someone."

Suddenly a hand reaches up to her cheeks, wiping the tears that had fallen off her face.

A warm smile was given by him.

Boyoung just giggled and immediately felt the warmth in his embrace.

"Why now. If you told me earlier, we could do all the things in the world."

"we could do anything we wanted."

"The only thing that was enough for me-"

"Was to spend the time I had with you."

He smiled. Boyoung's tears were flowing.

"What can we do? Surely, there is a cure right?"

Suddenly, chan sniffed and held her hand tightly. Boyoung knew his answer and could only cry more. "Whatever- Chan, if anything happens- we SHOULD just believe and have faith." Boyoung embraced his face. "Boyoung- if anything happens. Just remember- I-i love you," Chan said. She got closer and gave closed the space between them. She could feel his smile beneath her lips.

Suddenly, a huge beep is heard. And something goes wrong with the heart rate monitor. A group of nurses barges in, making Boyoung leave the room. Boyoung could only say, "annyeong" as her lasts words. Now, was the moment whether it would really be the lasts of them.

Boyoung just stared at him. They were doing all kinds of thing to him. "1,2,3" the nurse counted as they tried to wake him up. Boyoung saw what was happening.

And she couldnt think of anything.

She just sat down leaning againts the wall, praying with all her heart. Every minute that has passed, were just too fast. Too fast for everything to happen.

"Time of death, 12.00am. Place of death, Seoul Hospital." she heard the doctor say with the other nurses. The doctor immediately met Boyoung. Boyoung just immediately pulled her into a hug. "I am sorry, we have tried our best," the doctor said. Boyoung just couldnt help but nod and sob.

She then remembered his final words;

"Boyoung- if anything happens. Just remember- I-i love you," Chan said.
