Third Person POV

Perth and Saint and Mean tried to stay as long as they could but when Plan didn't show any signs of regaining consciousness by noon time, they decided to go home and come back the following day.

Mean decided to go back to the hospital the following morning. Before going straight to the hospital, he stopped by a supermarket and bought a basket of assorted fresh fruits to bring to Plan.

When he got to the hospital, he took the elevator to the sixth floor and made several wrong turns in the corridors before finding Plan's room.

He knocked on the door and a female voice said "Come in!"

He walked in and saw a pretty young lady standing by P'Plan's bedside gently wiping a moist face towel across his forehead.

He had to think quickly what to say about the basket of fruits that he had brought with him to avoid any misunderstandings between P'Plan and his girlfriend.

"That's the culprit!" P'Plan exclaimed, pointing at Mean, "he was the one who knocked me unconscious and caused my head wound!"

"I'm so sorry, P'Plan, I didn't know it was you," Mean said, feeling genuinely sorry.

"I was just kidding, Mean," he said, "it wasn't your fault. I would have done the same thing that you did."

Then Plan saw the basket that Mean was holding.

"Oh you got me a basket of fruits," said P'Plan.

Mean had to think quickly.

"Oh, I was sent by Saint to deliver this to you," he said.

"Why couldn't he come and deliver it himself?" asked P'Plan.

"He had to do an errand for his mom," Mean was making things up as he went along. He told himself ruefully what an expert liar he had become ever since he first denied to Plan that he loved him.

"Actually, I promised a friend that I would meet up with him at the mall around this time so I have to go but I will come visit you again soon," said Mean, lying to Plan once again as he set the basket of fruits on the bedside table.

"Make it sooner than later," said Plan.

"I will," said Mean as he hurried out the door not wanting Plan to see how his eyes were starting to moisten up with unshed tears.

For the hundredth time, Mean wanted to kick himself for assuming all this time that Plan did not have a girlfriend, that he was single.

Plan was a very attractive looking guy, why would he not have a girlfriend, you dummy, Mean told himself as he walked towards his car in the hospital parking lot.

Just as he was about to drive away, his phone started to ring. It was Saint calling. He put his car back to park gear and took the call.

"P'Mean!" exclaimed Saint, "why did you tell P'Plan that I had sent you to bring him a basket of fruits???"

Oh shit, Mean had not factored in the possibility that Plan might call Saint to thank him for the fruits.

"Did you tell him that it wasn't you?" asked Mean, while pounding his fist on the wheel of his car.

"I stammered for a while but I eventually accepted his thanks, saying that it was indeed me, because I figured you had a reason for telling him so," said Saint.

"I owe you so much," said Mean in a heartfelt tone.

"But why did you have to lie about it?" asked Saint.

"I did not want to cause any misunderstandings between him and his girlfriend who was present at his bedside," said Mean.

"I didn't know that he had a girlfriend," said Saint, "he has never mentioned one to me."

"He is a very private person," said Mean, "he's not going to tell us every personal thing that's going on in his life."

"I guess you're right," said Saint.

"Are you planning to visit him today?" asked Mean.

"Why would I, I already sent him a basket of fruits through you," said Saint and laughed out loud.
