Rant's of a Mormon High-schooler

Michigan Boy

        Hello! Im Jayden Feltner, I am an active member of the LDS church and have a testimony in it.

        But dont let that stop you from reading this.

        This is in no way created to convert you or what not, just mearly let you get an insider on what       the world is like behind the eye's of a mormon boy, but maybe give you a laugh, too.

        As you can likely tell, I am a freshman in a High-school located in the state of Arizona. Now, like many Mormon's, I was born in Utah. But for some reason my parent's thought, "We've lived in this freezing place for far to long, let's go to Arizona!" (Dont quote me on that) and I have lived in Arizona since. 

        Now many may think, why in the world does this matter? Well, we'll get to that. Needless to say, I have been raised in Arizona and aside from the insanley hot summer's, rainy August's, and deadly landscape, I have come to love Arizona and it's cool (but not to cool) Winter's. And whenever some one offend's her, I get all up in their bid'ness. Remember this, for this is an improtant element. 

        I am new to high-school, and all of it's lovely people it has to offer. I have been going every day for nearly two week's now, and until two day's ago I have sat next to two people in Biology whom we will refer to as Emma and Rocky.(Not their actual names) Rocky can get annoying at time's, but at the most part mean's well. Emma is pretty cool whom usually makes fun of the teacher and complain's about work. 

        This monday, I was introduced to Michigan boy. I had no idea how cocky poeple could be about their states until this kid show's up. He sit's there quietely, just taking in his surrounding's for about fifteen minute's. I honor his quiteness and leave him alone, while Mr. Biology is telling us facts about Bar graph's, Line graphs and pie graph's. Then mr. Biology passes out a Biology worksheet, Which Michigan boy look's at intensly. I decide if he is to ask me any question's i'll help, but for now im just going to leave him alone. 

        Behind me Emma kick's my seat to get my attention, and she ask's something about the worksheet. Then I see Michigan boy lift his head up, and I think," 'Bout time this kid say's something." But what come's out his mouth is something I would have under normal circumstances yelled at someone for. and here it is: "Arizona people are so dumb, all you guy's do is cuss and get D's in classes that in Michigan would have been easy A''s" I was intitially shocked at this, and as Emma come's to Arizona's aid, im just sitting here wondering what in the world I had done to deserve that. 

        SO, today I confronted Michigan boy. I argued that this was a normal Biology class and that the school offered honor's Biology. And get this, the kid say's to me,"I like how easy it is in here, so I would rather do the easy stuff. But I was just making a point on how much better Michigan school's were. and I was from one of the lower Michigan school's." at this point I had to refrain from laughing. I continued through out the day cracking joke's about how much better the school's are in Michigan. But instead of getting defensive about these joke's, his thick skull thought that I was actually complementing Michigan's school. 

        Now before I end this, I would just like to say that this is not meant to offend Michigan people or me saying that all Michigan people are like this. I just want to say, if you are going to tell people that your state is so great and the state you are in is total crap and every one in it is stupid, think about how you would like poeple to tell you that your state is crappy, and then not say it at all. Because no one like's that. and remember this next time you are in a new state and looking to meet new friend's by making fun of the state you are in and telling people how awesome your state is, remember this, You will look like a chump, so just dont. Thank's.
