Childhood Friend

I hesitated a bit wondering who was behind the door. I tried to remember who this 'Elise' was. After about a minute I decided to open the door.

I opened the door and she said "Hi, it's nice to see you again after such a long time Aeron"

I was frozen with my mouth hanging wide open due to the shock of how this girl could ever be my friend.

She was beyond words.

Elise's POV:

Aeron's mouth was hanging wide open and I giggled due to his distorted face.

'He hasn't changed a bit' I thought

He has gotten a bit handsomer though with his face and all.

I then asked him "Are you ready to go?"

"Huh? Oh right school! Oh hold on um give me a minute to get my stuff." he said in a awkward manner.

In the meantime, I let myself in to explore the place. 'Comfortable and welcoming' I thought and then noticed how big the place actually was . I was in awe looking at the view but then a certain sound distracted me.

I searched for the source of the sound and found a little puppy with the letters "Mellow" inscribed on the collar. I guess that this cute puppy belonged to Aeron.

I then heard a door open and found Aeron with 5 things in each hand and his fly open

I laughed out loud when he fell down with his books falling on top of him one by one.

I went towards him and offered my hand while saying "You okay?, need a hand?"

"Yeah, thanks I appreciate it." he said

As he got up he gathered his books and put them into his bag and got his supplies along with his transfer papers.

"Ok, now are you ready to go?" I asked

"Umm yeah I think so let's go." he said a bit unsure I think

"Uhh.. don't you think you should zip up your pants before we go?" I said while laughing silently

"What are you talking about?" he said cluelessly

"Your pants. Look down." I said

"Oohh..whoops sorry, pretend you didn't see that." he said as he turned the other way to zip up his pants.

"Ok I think that's it, let's start by just walking to school today k?" I said

"...Ok sure." he replied

"It's just to show you around and for you to get used to the surroundings in case you get lost."

"Can you show me where the grocery store is after school?" he asked

"Yeah sure I'll be glad to. But seriously, I think we should get moving if you want me to show you around."

Aeron's POV:
I kept glancing at Elise who I still can't seem to remember.

She glanced back and I quickly turned my face around as if I didn't do anything.

She started to stare at me for sometime so I turned to face her and she turned her face around this time instead.

I shrugged it off and looked at my surroundings and realized how the sky looked here.

I stopped to look at the sky and clouds. I could see from the corner of my eyes that she was probably wondering why I suddenly stopped.

The sky was beautiful. The blue sky that mixed with the rising sun. It was the one thing other than Elise right now that I was interested about. I kept a note to myself to buy a camera and some art supplies.

I snapped back to reality and remembered that I have to go to school.

"Sorry, shall we keep going?" I asked

"Huh? oh yeah let's go." she said

She started showing me around the neighborhood saying that this was a kind neighborhood with kids and elderly people.

What she said was true. The whole neighborhood was warm and welcome. It was full of people who were all familiar with another and who they all knew for years.

One old lady that was near us suddenly said something so I turned around wondering if she was talking to us.

"Hey, is that you Elise? And who is that handsome boy next to you? He looks unfamiliar. Is he your boyfriend perhaps?" The old lady asked with an eyebrow up

"Oh, Grandma Choi, yes it's me Elise. This boy here is my childhood friend Aeron that just came from the states to Korea. He also transferred to my school." Elise said

"Oh ....and he's not my boyfriend." Elise added with a little embarrassment

"Nice to meet you, uhh..." I said

"Just call me Grandma Choi" the old lady said

"Ok. Nice to meet you Grandma Choi. Korea has so far been great and I'm glad to be here." I said with a hand out for a handshake

"Of course boy. Korea is amazing you know? I've lived here my whole life. And welcome to the neighborhood and your new home." she said and gave me a tight hug

I hugged her back awkwardly after a few seconds of not knowing what to do

"Thank you. I hope to see you around again." I said and waved goodbye to Grandma Choi

"Isn't this neighborhood just great?" Elise asked excitedly

"Yeah it's really great." I replied

"We're almost there to the school. In about 3 more minutes you will be able to see the school and the entrance." She said

"I see it now. Its really huge and wide huh?" I asked

"Yeah, that sounds like it all right."

We finally arrived at the school entrance.

'What will happen now?' Was all I thought
