   He was no longer human.
The thought ripped through his mind, leaving a dull throbbing in its wake.
He slowly reached up, and brushed his finger against his, now pointed, ear. As he brought his hand down, he found it shaking. He looked back at the mirror. His now blind eye was purple... But the other remained sky blue...
How was this even possible? What even was he? He'd always said he believed in werewolves and vampires, but to actually see... .....what would Ethel think...?
Marin opened his mouth, and found no fangs. Not a vampire, then....
"I'm surprised you're so calm," the woman mused from behind him. He turned to face her. He was vaguely aware of her saying something more, but his complete focus was now on her ears. They were pointed too. They hadn't been that way moments ago.
   "-was lost," she was saying.
"What did you do to me?" He winced as he spoke. Everything was getting louder and louder in his ears. The woman pursed her lips. Everything hurt. His headache only worsened. He pressed his hand to his forehead, trying to get it to stop. Trying to stop the screaming that began in his ears.
He felt a different hand press against his hand, then draw back almost instantly. Why did he suddenly feel so cold? Yelling filled his ears before light flashed across his vision, and he didn't think twice as he sprinted into it. He heard glass shattering seconds before the world went dark.

Aster entered her dorm for the first time. There were several girls sprawled across the sofas, some in the kitchen, and too many running around screeching. She instantly wanted to leave. In fact, she was starting to close the door when a certain Naga called her name.
"Aster, how nice of you to join us!" Caliza was in front of her almost instantly. Aster resisted the urge to sigh. She took back what she said. This girl might just annoy her to death.
She was quickly proven right when every girl there stopped to look at her. Caliza was very obviously trying not to laugh. Aster bit back a growl.
"It is not often that new students join our school. To what do we owe the pleasure of your presence?" Spoke a silvery voice. The owner of the voice rose gracefully from the sofa, and approached Aster. The girl's entire countenance was that of a princess. Her shoulders were back, her chin was lifted. Yet her eyes shone through with an unspoken kindness.
Maybe Aster wouldn't kill Caliza just yet. At the thought, she glanced over and found Caliza grinning at the princess.
"I just ended up here," Aster said, finally answering her question.
The girl nodded, somehow satisfied with her answer. "I am Maseura. I do hope you enjoy your time here," she said, smiling at Aster.
"Okay, don't bore her to death with all your formalities," Caliza interrupted. Aster rolled her eyes at the amusement in Maseura's eyes.
When Aster looked back at the other girls, she found that they had gone back to what they were doing. She looked at Maseura. It seemed that they all looked up to her. And since she seemed to approve of her...
"Come, we have much to discuss," Maseura said, turning to Caliza. Caliza nodded and smirked at Aster.
"Don't get lost," she teased, before following after Maseura. Aster just shook her head. The place wasn't even big enough to get lost in. With that, she headed down the hall to her room, ready to relax. Yet something kept nagging at her. How could a place as decent as this not be on the maps? Or recognized even in the slightest? She opened her room door, and stepped inside. And what was the headmaster? Did he have something to do with the explanation? No... Her theories generally had the same likelihood of coming true as Elves coming back. Aster began unpacking. When she finished, she was fast asleep before she hit the bed.

"Well what do we have here?"
Marin couldn't see anything. For a few moments he only heard the soft crunching of leaves. Then the pain registered. He felt horrible, as if someone had dropped a pound of bricks on top of him. But at least he wasn't freezing anymore.
"Not a very graceful entrance for a spy, hm?" The voice spoke again. This time, Marin caught the wicked amusement in his tone. He tried to push himself up, and felt electricity shoot through him. He let out a bark of pain. The footsteps came closer.
He finally managed to open his eyes. And then he hurled his insides onto the grass.
