This story is based on the famous Italian Mafia and how love can change almost anyone's plans. I wanted to give a description of some of the characters so that you understand a bit about there backgrounds and how they might act the way they do. Of course you can skip this chapter but I thought it would be useful if you new more about the characters. As this is based on Italian Mafia some characters often speak a bit in Italian obviously I will tell you what it means now.
Onto the characters:
Ruby Smallwood:
Ruby is as some people would regard as normal, she works as a vet in Chicago and her recent husband has died, Jaydon Smallwood.
Jaydon Smallwood:
Although Jaydon doesn't really feature in this story he is still important. His family's illegal business runs through his company and jaydon was always protective of ruby for this reason, he taught her to shoot and how to fend for herself.
Lincoln Costello:
Lincoln Costello the leader of the Costello Mafia business after his father passed it down to him. He is from an Italian family as you will notice.
Echo Redwood:
Echo's story is quite upsetting so just be careful when you read it as this should be taken seriously and isn't a joke. Echo is with Grant a successful business man I cannot tell you why she is forced to be with him as that would reveal to much but he is a disgusting man and beats echo often. Obviously her story will get better it just takes time.
Vivian Smallwood:
Jaydons and Emmett's mother. She is disapproval of Ruby and Jaydon and obviously will try to ruin Ruby and her company.
Lucas Costello:
Lincoln's little brother and second in command of the Costello Mafia. He is almost as powerful as Lincoln and is just as feared.
I have given the descriptions of the main characters and the ones with an important past.
Like I said I wanted to go over the Italian translations just so that it makes more sense to you, you can probably work out some of them quite easily.
Cazzo- Fuck/shit
Amore- love
Principessa- princess
Mamma/ Ma- mum/mom
Fratello- Brother
