Broken Promise

If I ever leave
I will leave you smiling
I will be with you
All through to the end
My heart will call
Your soul will heed

You seemed to forget.
Quite too easily
Your heart called another
You became indifferent
I was not responsible for.
That smile anymore
That that was only for me.
You cared less and less
You chocked and squeezed that fragile heart
Without care, eyes cold with contempt

The worst yet
You left
Like a thief in utter darkness
Without my knowledge
Not even my presence

Down the corridor I still walk
Where promises were made.
Still I cannot believe
What an empty place it has come to be
My heart still yearns
Though moving on is a necessity
I will cling on memories
And forget the broken Promise.
